Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify Complex problems and needs at the customer site and work throughout the work cycle until the implementation of the solutionLead recipe creation to optimize system performance and Train PSE/AEs in recipe creationApplication Qualification of new technologies/features, Executes -sites, evaluation and demos at customers siteParticipate in Customer Demo ActivitiesParticipate in finding the solution, follow up on solution executionCreate new methodologies in order to optimized system performance for specific applicationAnalysis and Transfer new application capabilities in the system envelope from product division to customer application support teamParticipates in customer technical review meetingsFunctional Knowledge

Application EngineerThis position is within the Semiconductor Products Group that provides advanced process equipment and solutions to the semiconductor fab industries worldwide.Application engineers are supposed to maximize the performance of our new products through a deep and thorough understanding of use-cases in close technical collaboration with leading-edge chip manufacturing customers.At a higher expertise level, they also contribute to product development roadmap through spec definition and performance validation.Education Qualifications:
  • Masters/Integrated Dual Degree/PhD from premier institution with 0-2 years of experience in Microelectronics/ Materials Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Engineering Physics
Desired Capabilities:
  • Sound fundamentals of semiconductor device physics and process knowledge (deposition, etching)
  • Basic familiarity with working in a semiconductor fab, and experience in interfacing with field support engineers
  • Highly desirable to have working level proficiency in Python and SQL databases
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Requires 70% travel on short notice to leading semiconductor chip manufacturing fabs overseas and Applied Materials headquarters
