Job Description

    Job summaryAmazon Karigar is one of the flagship SMB programs of Amazon aimed towards upliftment and digitization of Indian handloom and handicraft sector. Karigar is an initiative to drive organic inclusion and success for underrepresented and undeserved artisans, weavers, micro and small businesses communities selling handmade products Amazon. We are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager for Amazon Karigar with strong business acumen to build Karigar as the most preferred destination to shop handloom and handicraft products online, drive success for Karigar sellers, manage seller lifecycle, seed new business ideas and growth initiatives, lead partnerships & alliances with govt/quasi- govt bodies and increase program awareness among consumers, policy makers and sellers. This is a high visibility role in a fast-growing team that offers a great opportunity to work across different internal and external stakeholders, and manage a team of account managers to support our mission to help small businesses succeed.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is energized by a fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment. Ability to problem solve in high ambiguity, creating a long-term vision & roadmap, and delivering results will set this person apart. The candidate will possess strong business development and account management skills, analytical acumen, great negotiation skills, high degree of ownership and integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should have the ability to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization. The role will require coordination with sales, marketing, public policy, PR, legal, finance, seller marketing, category and other cross functional teams. Operating in a rapidly changing environment will require the candidate to be adept at dealing with ambiguous, new and challenging situations. This is a people manager role.Key job responsibilities1. Program management: Own Business and customer metrics and goals for the program, define program strategy and roadmap, lead OP and LRF discussions, lead key projects, manage cross functional teams and stakeholders and lead team/leadership reviews.2. Customer Experience: Solving for selection, speed, pricing, catalog, product discoverability and building platform trust to offer a hassle free shopping experience to customers 3. Seller Experience: Manage seller lifecycle across acquisition, onboarding, value prop, performance, engagement to offer best in class SX 4. Partnerships & Alliances: Cultivate and nurture partnerships with key state/central govt and quasi-govt organizations and seek endorsements for HVEs, new launches to build a strong GFI narrative 5. Business Development & Account Management Lead a team of BDA and SAMs to acquire, manage and drive success for High Value Sellers/D2C Brands and government emporiums/ partners operating in handicraft & handloom space. 6. New initiatives: Conceptualize/ideate new growth ideas/ initiatives to drive seller success and program awareness and lead it to a logical conclusion. 7. Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively manage and influence cross functional stakeholders and senior leadership8. Business analytics: Conduct regular deep dive and own the weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews with leadership,
    • 3+ years experience in program or project management
    • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
    • 3+ years experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
    Bachelors degree required, MBA is preferred 3+ years experience in Program management/ partnerships & alliances/ category management/ business development Demonstrated Analytical ability, results-oriented environment with external customer interaction.Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly. Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment. Understanding of e-commerce. Working knowledge of MS Excel Past experience working with government/social enterprise/public sector is a plus Relevant work experience in new product/program development/ strategy development/ category management in the e-commerce industry or in the SMB space. Experience dealing with governments, policy makers, or public relations High threshold for working and thriving in an ambiguous, fast paced environment Proficiency with SQL and experience working with large data-sets Strong bias for action with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines Demonstrated comfort dealing with ambiguityProfessional traits those are not unique to this position, but necessary for Amazon leaders: Ability to think big and to inspire passion in others.
