Job Description

Job Summary

  • The BI developer position would work closely with the Enterprise Architect based in Toronto, gathering and understanding requirements from functional users and IT teams, breaking them down to tangible tasks, making estimates, implement and deliver reporting solutions to the organization.
  • While being aware of the practices of SLDC, this position would operate in a highly agile environment, adapting and aligning to the rapidly changing needs of the business.
  • Additionally, this position will support various functional teams on queries about reports metrics, troubleshooting and tracing back the data to the source to rectify any issues.
  • Will take ownership and accountability of critical issues that arise during Asia Pacific business hours and work to resolution.
  • This position is located at Bangalore.

The key accountabilities of this position are:

Main Job Accountability

  • Understand user stories, convert to tangible tasks with effort estimates, and execution of tasks in agile methodology.
  • Create and maintain Reports and Dashboards in Armstrong s Enterprise PowerBI Platform
  • Monitoring critical job refreshes to ensure availability of data to business

2nd Main Job Accountability

  • Troubleshoot and fix issues, performance tuning and improvement of existing reports when necessary.
  • Taking ownership and supporting users with queries on reports, must be able to act independently, especially for APAC region.
  • SQL Server Data Warehouse development management activities.

3rd Main Job Accountability

Role Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence or Information Management
  • 3+ years of experience with data visualization, implementing high-value solutions and performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge of Data Management, Business Intelligence and Analytics concepts including:
  • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
  • Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Marts, Data Stores, and Cubes
  • Data Quality and Profiling,
  • Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Metadata Management
  • Data Visualization, Dashboard, Reporting, Self Service Business Intelligence (BI), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and Scorecards
  • Predictive, Prescription, and Descriptive Analytics
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack including Power BI and Excel
  • Advanced level of expertise in SQL Server Application Development and Warehousing.
  • Experience working with Agile development methodology
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, client-facing role where delivering solid work products to exceed high expectations is a measure of success
  • Willing to establish strong work relationships with clients and team members
  • Ability to generate ideas and understand different points of view
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to solve business problems
