Job summaryAs the CG Supervisor for Prime Video s new initiative, you will own the process of producing computer generated 3D imagery for our highly technical and fast growing VFX pipeline. In this role, you are one part CG artist, and one part technical designer responsible for designing and implementing the creative, technical, and artistic pipeline and workflow of our unique productions. You ll help envision and design the very tools and innovations you ll deploy across our future productions. You ll train our external vendors and partners on new CG workflows and techniques as we invent and deploy them.You are both a technical and creative thought leader who deeply understands the existing CG landscape. You have expert knowledge of all the main 3D VFX tool sets, composition applications, and rendering engines. You re familiar with Shotgrid to the point you can suggest improvements to our existing workflows. You have previously led TD s in solving problems and empowered studio teams to optimize and streamline their VFX workflows. You re interested in CV and ML, and inventing the future of CG workflows.As the CG Supervisor, a typical day will consist of working with VFX department leads, attending reviews, reviewing feedback, and processing metrics and data from our VFX processes to identify and address pipeline blockages, inefficiencies and ambiguity. In turn, you ll use same data and metrics from our VFX processes to accelerate automation, relieve friction and alleviate pain points wherever they exist. You ll work with with stakeholders across vendors and partners, and internal teams to expedite our workflows.Key job responsibilities* Design and supervise the technical, artistic pipeline and workflow of our productions.* Supervise and own the design and creation of CG imagery both internally, and at our vendors and partners.* Take the lead locally (India) on all future CG designs, and be the point of contact for all CG, technical and creative requests.* Using software to create characters and visual elements for movies, TV shows, and other productions.* Create mock-ups for developers and engineers to help envision over the horizon solutions to the VFX workflow.* Overseeing visual effects projects and serve as liaisons with the production crews, artists, VFX producers and vendors.* Innovate new ways of integrating CGI content into live action content, and develop future workflows and technologies that enable new processes.* Supervise and guide our teams utilizing match moving, motion graphics, texturing, lighting, pre viz, rotoscoping, prototyping.* Regularly utilize data and data points from across our VFX post-production toolkit to make better informed decisions.* Think of ways CV and ML might influence and shape our future VFX workflows.* Exhibit thought leadership with regards to prototyping, testing and on-boarding new VFX software and tools into our existing CG workflow.A day in the lifeAs the CG Supervisor, a typical day will consist of working with VFX department leads, attending reviews, reviewing feedback, and processing metrics and data from our VFX processes to identify and address pipeline blockages, inefficiencies and ambiguity. If you live and breathe CG and 3D visual effects, have a passion for optimizing and streamlining VFX workflows, if you yearn to be part of the future of the VFX industry, and if this position sounds exciting to you, please read on., * 5-10 Years CG Supervisor experience with 3D VFX specific workflows* 7+ Years Experience working at CG Supervisor within a VFX production studio, managing CG workflows, and building CG tools and technologies* Expertise in major VFX industry software tools such as Nuke, Maya, Houdini, Blender* Experience with FFMPEG* Experience working with tight schedules, deadlines and deliverables* Able to juggle multiple projects, workflows and deliverables concurrently* Demonstrated ability to lead, and to multi-task and self-prioritize* Self starter with bias for action who is not afraid to take corrective action when needed in order to keep the project on track and on schedule* Ability to work with highly technical teams and envision improvements to workflows and process while mastering your current tasks * You ve worked within a well known VFX studio as CG Supervisor while working on high budget, high profile productions* You ve supervised a large team of CG artists* You re comfortable working in tandem with other teams working abroad* Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced online environment* Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to meet aggressive deadlines* Proactively manage timelines, deliverables, and keep projects on track around-the-clock
