Who we are:The Secure Policy and Access (SPA) team in Cisco is looking for talented individuals to build the next generation suite of services for the Intent Based Network that enables enhanced visibility and control of the wired and wireless network in both on-prem and cloud environment with near real time actionable views across the network, security, device, user and applications.What You ll Do:As a Cloud Architect, responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical leadership in support of initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. As a Cloud Architect, responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recoveryA strong communicator, leader, and advocate for our customers, delivering scalable and reliable business solutions to customers and partners.Write high quality designs that make sound engineering decisions across known and unknown interacting systems.Provide estimates and dependencies for engineering tasks. Able to lead all aspects of development including design, task allocation, implementation, testing, documentation, ongoing support and maintenance.Participate in the design and implementation of service automation, monitoring and observation and analyzing service telemetry.Review and provide feedback on features, technology, architecture, designs, time & budget estimates, and test strategies.Installation, configuration and development including work within a production environment for SaaS servicesWho You ll Work WithWork in partnership with other teams at Cisco, such as Product, Engineering, Sales to produce high quality and specific requirements.Work directly with our customer to troubleshoot and understand their pain points.Work with Scrum master and team members to drive the estimates and dependencies for engineering tasks. Deliver highly scalable and reliable software applications.Who you areIndividual with experience in the design and development of cloud-native scaled out and distributed applications that leverage micro service architecture, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL stores.Having strong knowledge of system design, deployment best practices, scaling, monitoring & telemetry.Hands-on experience with micro services development, deployment, and monitoringWith hands-on experience building large scale, resilient distributed systemsAble to demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)Able to demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization on cloud end-to-end architecture, including AWS, networking, provisioning, and management Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the why, and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendationMaintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasksDefine optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applicationsQualificationsBasic Skills:B.S (Preferred M.S) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical degree11+ years of software and architecture experience in a technology-based company with 4+ years of hands on SaaS development experience in any public cloud environment (AWS preferred)Java, Python or Go proficiencyDatabase Mongo dB or Postgres, Kafka working knowledgeKubernetes, Docker or related technologiesExperience designing and implementing REST APIsSolid grasp of software engineering principles and practicesHands-on Experience with AWS and VMWare enterprise implementationsStrong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologiesStrong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systemsNice to haveCassandra, Elastic searchRabbitMQDrools/Activiti, and a range of open source libraries.Cloud telemetry and health management, experience in Grafana, Prometheus, KibanaCI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, Locust etc.).,
