Job Description

Required Experience:
  • Min 6-8 years experience in large Data Center migration projects with hands on experience on any of the planning tools
  • DCM Discovery
    • Coordinate data collection requirements with Migration Leads and Data manager
    • Manage the data collection process with the customer to ensure the schedule is maintained
    • Conduct data collection interviews
    • Understanding / experience of automated discovery tools e.g Device 42, vRNI .
    • Manage customer data in the complete and correct format
    • Ensure data is accurate and in the right formats before turning updating to Migration Database in DTM or Transition Manager tools.
    • Validate data collection results with customer
    • Ensure data collection sheets follow the versioning control nomenclature
    • Participate in bundling
  • DCM Planning Phase
    • Assist preparing and managing Run Book From/To lists, Startup and Shutdown procedures, Contingency/Backout plans, Test plans, Resource plan
    • QA Run Books
    • Attend and take notes during Table Top exercises
    • Ensure Run Books follow the versioning control nomenclature
    • Update Run Book as directed by the Migration Lead
  • DCM Execution Phase
    • Track the completion of Pre-Migration tasks as directed by the Migration Lead
    • Assist and manage the execution of Migration Events in the absence of the Migration Lead
    • Maintain Migration Dashboard
    • Update the Run Book as directed by the Migration Lead
    • Document all incidents accurately and thoroughly
    • Draft all status communications
    • Attend and taking notes during Table Top, Go/No-Go, and Lessons Learned meetings
  • Good hands on experience in using advanced features of Microsoft Excel (functions and formulas). Hands on experience of data visualization using Power BI and other visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of conducting workshops, preparing migration strategy, migration plans, runbooks, status reports.
  • Experience in hosting meetings like command center, go/no-go, lessons learnt, table top etc.
  • Co-ordinates between stakeholder s and documents the conversation that is meaningful/useful.
  • Good understanding of Cloud/infrastructure components and migration methodology.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Good stakeholder management skills negotiation skills.
  • Good articulation and communication skills in both verbal and written contexts.
  • ITIL certification (Optional)
