Job Description

What Youll DoAs a DevNet Bootcamp Delivery Engineer, youll help develop and deliver DevNet training offers to customers who are working on redefining their infrastructure teams and the way they work. You will share your experience and help encourage infrastructure engineers in how they can drive innovation within their organizations.You will focus on delivery of hands-on customer bootcamps, guiding customers through in-depth hands-on coding labs, using a number of Cisco technologies and a variety of automation tools and (predominantly) python libraries. You will also help those engineers ideate and mentor them as they begin to work on those solutions.Who youll work withThe team you will work with is Cisco DevNet, Technical Community, and Certifications, which provides developer relations for Ciscos developer offerings, and develops certifications and training for all of Ciscos solutions. DevNet covers information for APIs, DevOps, applications, automation, and infrastructure management. We combine technical skills with people skills to support both application developers and infrastructure developers in many ways. We provide community outreach, educational events, API documentation, and resources such as sandbox environments to try out Cisco products. We have developer advocates across the globe, and we run our own platforms and keep the developer sandboxes ready for developers to practice their skills.Who you areYou are a Network Automation Developer who enjoys using code to tackle business problems. You are a specialist in multiple Cisco technologies, and their APIs. You have practical experience with a broad set of NetDevOps and automation tools. You are passionate about guiding others programming lessons in Python, and other languages as needed. You are able to optimally solve common environment issues in development environments. And you are able to connect lessons to real world customer needs and scenarios.Experience wed strongly prefer you to have:

  • Software development experience and familiarity with the use of APIs and SDKs.
  • Experience coding in Python.
  • Candidates should have expertise with Cisco technologies including ACI, NX-OS, and NSO
  • Solid understanding of fundamental changes to the software and technology business, driven by NetDevOps.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience guiding or mentoring engineers on programmability and automation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using developer tools and APIs to build integrations or extend products.
  • A solid understanding of how to consume and build RESTful APIs.
Experience that would be phenomenal to have:
  • Understanding of networking and Cisco networking and software products including Cisco DNA Center, IOS XE, and Firepower
  • Cisco DevNet Associate, Cisco DevNet Professional and/or Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist
  • Experience using tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, pyATS, and CML.
