Job Description

Role Summary:

Baker Hughes has a new opportunity for DCM (Rulestream) Systems Administrator to join the team in Bengaluru, India

Essential Responsibilities:

As a DCM (Rulestream) Systems Administrator you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining application stability and performance for all DCM (Rulestream) instances globally
  • Providing back-end systems administration support, including
  • End user account management,
  • Code library maintenance,
  • Deployment of packages in production and non-production environments
  • Refresh of non-production environments according to an agreed schedule
  • Monitoring the system health of the application and underlying infrastructure and assisting infrastructureproject teams to remediate production issues
  • Executing DCM Rulestream application patches, upgrades, and enhancements as per a schedule defined by application stakeholders
  • Ensuring adherence to processes and standards and developing operational guidelines, standard operating procedures, and training documentation for application support teams
  • Participating in on-call rotation for off-hours support, working closely with application owners, application development and support teams, as well as infrastructure support teams to restore services as quickly as possible
  • Teaming with application solution architects, infrastructure architects, and developers to improve Rulestream performance and user experience, including
  • Contributing to developing system architecture recommendations, solution configuration and sizing recommendations for new strategic Rulestream implementations, consolidations of legacy DCM installations into existing strategic Rulestream instances, and migrations of existing DCM implementations to new architecturessites;
  • Contributing to developing and executing a best practice infrastructure strategy which ensures optimal performance for all strategic Rulestream instances across the organization
  • Implementing and maintain infrastructure technology pilots, proof of concepts (e.g. cloud-based technology, virtualization, etc.), and preliminary testing of new majorminor versions.
  • Maintaining and applying current knowledge of information technology; keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies; making technology, process, and application recommendations that can be used to lower costs, increase performance, and add value to the business
  • Managing communications for scheduled maintenance, incidents and outages

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Have a Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science or relevant professional experience

    • Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

    • Good knowledge of LinuxUnix andor Windows system administration
    • Previous experience with system administration or application development.
    • Experience with cloud-based platforms
    • Experience with scripting andor programming languages for automation (ie. Java, PHP, Perl, Ruby, Python, NodeJS, PowerShell, etc)

      • Personal Attributes:

      • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding or scripting,
      • Excellent communication skills and a desire to solve complex problems at scale
      • Experience in DevOps or TechOps environments
      • Curiosity and willingness to learn
      • Solid team player, collaborating well with others to solve problems and actively incorporating input from various sources
      • Demonstrated customer focus evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer building strong customer relationships
