Job Description

    Job summaryThe Physical Store Technology org supports Amazon s brick and mortar stores such as Amazon Go, Amazon Fresh Stores, Amazon Style and Whole Food Markets. Our stores support magical customer experiences such as the Just Walk Out cashier-less checkout and Amazon Dash carts. We are scaling our physical stores business and continue to launch new store formats that bring rich experiences to our customers and blend in-store with online experiences.We are looking for a strong technical leader to lead the continued development of our Physical Stores Technology organization. You will own a portfolio of programs that span new products that demand research and development in food safety, labor management, task management, inventory accounting, and inventory availability in physical stores. The leader will directly influence variable costs, and own goals to minimize food waste in stores. The leader will also directly oversee the development of shared components that will enable other Amazon teams to build tools and controls for operating a large network of stores.The ideal candidate will attract, retain, and develop the highest quality talent and help us grow the India Development Center for the Amazon Physical Stores Tech organization. They will provide strong technical guidance to ensure the correct technology and architecture decisions are being made and provide continuous product innovation to delight customers with world-class products. This candidate will be a product visionary with a strong track record in leading innovative teams that can not only build algorithms and systems for automating complex, multi-step operations, but also build innovative product features to create a state-of-the-art Physical Stores network. Operational excellence is key, as the systems owned by this organization directly affects experience of our in-store Associates., * 10+ years of experience building and managing development teams. * 5+ years of experience managing and effectively operating a complex system that is highly reliable and scalable. * Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering. * Experience leading several engineering teams for a distributed organization with several dev centers. * Experience developing long-term vision and strategy, and influencing leadership decisions. * MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering. * Experience with developing software for managing large scale distributed workflows. * Exceptional and effective verbal and written communication skills. * Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. * Proven ability to hire world class talent and foster an environment of innovation.
