  • Provide a sustainable inventory of metadata, controls and assessments supported by a broad set of data management capabilities.
  • Enable JPMorgan s physical data to be consistently described and classified to support the Firms data policy via effective data risks management.
  • Focus on engineered and manual capabilities in support of Data Stored, Moved, Consumed and Processed that works for all legacy and modern data platforms.
  • Realise value for key personas (Chief Data Officers, Data Scientists, Data Owners and Application Owners) to find and use data that is managed in support of business value outcomes.

Not often programs of work come along with this level of focus to build products, leveraging the latest technology, be part of a global team and execute with full priority with required investment. At the heart of the JADE strategy is Data Access Policy Enforcement, to ensure the right controls on data access and for the first time ensure they are driven by metadata.You will:
  • Work on some of the most complex data problems imaginable to ensure metadata can drive data access control.
  • Drive Business Results by:
    • setting the Product s vision, roadmap and objectives, and effectively cascades these throughout the organisation.
    • Identifies new opportunities to influence the firm s business and technology strategy in their business domain
    • Uses a broad business understanding, commercial acumen and deep understanding of own specialism(s) to guide product delivery
  • Design the vision of what metadata I required, partner with the Firmwide Data Management function to consistently capture and then use to drive enforcement of data protection in products be that internal, external or cloud-based technologies.
  • Develop products with full autonomy to define the vision, strategy and manage the backlog with engineering teams utilising an agile methodology.
  • Interact and partner with unbelievably large and talented data technology organisation
  • Influence decisions on data access and controls agenda with Firmwide Data Management, Operations and Technology partners
  • Interact with other high-performing teams within JPM to inspire innovation and champion change throughout the bank
What you will be working on Data exists in Transactional Stores, Operational Data Stores and Big Data Stores. This Product Owner role will work on defining and executing solutions to address known Data Access Control pain points:
  1. Inconsistent Policy Enforcement: As data is replicated across multiple data platforms, there is no consistent policy definition nor enforcement mechanism across platforms
  2. Lack of metadata-driven approach to defining entitlement policies that drive Policy enforcement
  3. Lack of fine grained access control: Some data platforms (Eq. AWS, Hadoop) currently do not natively provide fine-grained data access control at column, row and cell level; Different data platforms enforce data access controls differently
  4. Tight-coupling: The access control is tightly coupled with the physical data structures and hard to manage with frequently change and policy definitions
  5. Operational Complexity: Auditing and monitoring of the access control policy is labour intensive
Influence the design of solutions to deliver for multiple stakeholders simultaneouslyCollaborate with the firms Design and User Experience teams, providing clear requirements derived from user research to develop a best-in-class platform offeringManage the functional and technical requirements of business stakeholders to support their core requirementsPartner with internal engineering and vendor solutions as requiredWho are we hiring We are looking for an outstanding, Executive Director - Senior Product Manager - with deep experience of Data Access and Controls driven by Metadata from concept to delivery. We are looking for someone who, when something needs to be done, people come to you to get it done.Required:
  • You have 10+ years of experience in a product role and at least 4 years of management experience
  • Current or previous engineering experience around machine readable metadata driven ETL/ELT/ELTLT workloads using traditional and/or cloud native tools (specific case studies)
  • Be able to demonstrate deep understanding of at least one data domain in any industry from attributes level details to enterprise level concepts in the context of heterogeneous data sources (structure, syntax, semantics) to streamline data life cycle from sourcing, transformation, consumption of reference/master data, transaction data, etc. for reliable and scalable analytics.
  • Proven track record of product, agile and scrum ways of working
  • You have strong leadership skills and the ability to independently own products or a portfolio of products end-to-end. You have a strong track record of product deliveries
  • Familiarity with core areas in Metadata, Data Access, Policy and Enforcement
  • Familiarity with AWS and Cloud based platforms but equally experience with other large data platform offerings.
  • The ability to build consensus amongst a wide range of partners including business owners, technology, operations, legal & compliance, marketing & sales
