If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.The AMD Radeon Technology Group (RTG) develops GPU ASIC design that enhances our daily lives as we are entering an age of immersive computing. The RTG hardware engineering teams are distributed across Canada, US, China and India. The team in India is engaging on the enthusiast and high performance GPUs. As part of the RTG Design Emulation team, your team will be responsible for scoping out and building SOC emulation models, closely work with SOC DV and post silicon teams and come up with test plan and execute on Emulator to identify bugs early on in the pre-silicon stage as well as enable verifying software/firmware in the pre-silicon stage. As always, the team is dedicated to come up with innovative solution to overcome new challenges related to specific project requirements and time-to-market. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for enabling and supporting emulation programs with the following responsibilities.Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with many internal teams to develop test plans for emulation use
  • Mapping chip designs into hardware emulator platforms and environments
  • Responsible for creating and building SOC emulation models based on RTL. Develop emulation infrastructure components (i.e. transactors, debug monitors, etc.)
  • Work closely with post-Silicon teams (SW/FW/Diags) to enable their workloads during pre-Silicon timeframe
  • Capture and execute SOC DV scenarios using emulator.
  • Create / improve automation capabilities for system and silicon features.
  • Debug and troubleshoot RTL and platform issues on the emulator
  • Support power and performance attainment using emulation modeling
  • Strive to improve overall emulation flow and infrastructure
Preferred experience:
  • BS or above degree with 8+ years on ASIC design/verification/emulation, 3+ years on hardware emulation
  • In depth understanding of digital electronics, RTL design and Verilog working experience.
  • Have experience with design flows/methodologies including emulation, verification and bring up
  • Have experience with FPGAs and /or hardware emulation systems (Veloce, ZeBu and/or Palladium)
  • Have experience working with x86 platform hardware and software, PCIe bus protocol and PCIe enumeration process.
  • Have experience with using unix/linux and scripteing languages such as shell, ruby, tcl, perl, python etc.
  • Experience with debugging system hardware
  • Excellent knowledge of SV/UVM, C, C++, and OOP
  • Experience with debugging microprocessor and assembly language
  • Power and performance knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills are required.
  • Highly motivated, innovative individual with a keen interest in finding and resolving silicon and platform failures.
  • Ability to work well in challenging engineering and multi-site environment
