Job Description

    Worker Sub-Type:Regular Cyber Security Engineer - Connector Blackberry - the iconic brand you know and trust is now a market leading cybersecurity software and services company. Blackberry Bengaluru R&D center is developing the next generation security features for the Managed XDR product line that s part of Blackberry s Cyber Security product portfolio. Managed XDR is a cloud SaaS offering that provides organizations the full protection of an XDR platform with the human expertise and processes required to identify and contain attacks. With Managed XDR, organizations receive round the clock access to external cybersecurity threat reports and actionable intelligence to rapidly prevent threats. Managed XDR solution offers the benefits of a high-end security solution at a price that small and mid-size organizations can afford. About the position The Blackberry Bengaluru R&D team is looking for highly motivated engineers to develop the components of our next generation cloud delivered security features for the Managed XDR product line. You will be part of a focused engineering team with component ownership with substantial opportunities to learn, grow and expand your skillset. What you will do:
    • Design new systems and redesign existing system to deliver new functionality to meet cybersecurity customers needs
    • Learn to deliver all engineering facets of the component (e.g design, coding, unit testing, automation development)
    • Develop components to collect and normalize network log data, create filters or correlation rules to identify threats using network log data, correlate end point and network log data to build storyboard for threats, map them to MITRE TTPs, identify migration measures and build connectors to push rules to network devices and end points.
    • Bring on a growth mindset in day-to-day engineering activities and learn new technologies and tools that bring about individual and team efficiencies
    • Take accountability for the quality, total cost of ownership, maintainability and security of the component developed
    • Collaborate with other product management, technical leaders, cross-functional engineering stakeholders and architects to develop new features
    Who we are looking for:
    • 2 years of industry experience in product-based companies in software development roles developing functionality delivered from cloud
    • 2 years of expertise in scripting languages, specifically Python, NodeJS
    • Experience in building application using various internal, 3rd party and open source packages, building microservices.
    • Experience in big data processing and real-time stream processing, preferably Spark, Kafka, AWS services for streaming and data ingestion (Kinesis, AWS SQS etc.), AWS Lambda
    • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, Postgres, AWS DynamoDB etc.
    • Familiarity with modern security tools like EDR or XDR is a plus
    • Fast paced learner who thrives in quickly learning and mastering new technologies and is a team player
    • Experience developing new components in a scrum/agile environment
    • Knowledge of software engineering best practices in the areas of development, coding standards, code review tools, source control management, build process, CI/CD pipelines and automation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers
    • Strong academic record with a Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering from a reputed university
