Position Summary:The Sr. Software Engineer is a member of a Software Development Team. The Sr. Software Engineer performs all aspects of Software Development including programming, system design, code review, design review, unit testing, and integration testing.Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:Hands on Software Development of Thermo Fisher Scientific s software products.Ability to understand and communicate scientific requirementsParticipate as a team member on product release projects.Work with Support to address customer issues.Effectively apply project methodology and standards.Perform other related duties as required by the team.Basic Qualifications:4+ years proven experience in .NET including C#.Experience in team software development with working knowledge of unit testing, source code control, defect tracking, and version management.Experience in an applicable business domain (BioInformatics, LIMS, Pharmaceutical R&D, laboratory).Experience working in an Agile/Scrum processExperience of and effective at expressing and exchanging ideas, concepts and designs in a group setting.The candidate should have a track record of achievement and delivering on significant responsibilities in a timely fashion.Requires little supervision.Experience of working in a dynamic, flexible environment.Preferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Oracle software technologies in the desktop application, client-server, n-tier and/or networking sectors, including .NET.Experience in web application development (Angular, CSS)Experience in microservice development (C#)Bachelor s degree, or equivalent work experience, in the IT industry.Experience developing commercial software products.Experience working within a distributed, international team.Experience in developing applications using Visual Studio 2017, ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery..
