IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet Sciex, IDBS and Cepheid.The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.The position of Engineering Manager, Clinical Chemistry & Immunoassay (Chem. IA) R&D works with the Senior Manager, Chem. IA R&D with the primary responsibility to lead a group of engineering teams working on the development of console software for our next-generation chemistry and immunoassay analyzers. He/she will provide direct leadership for multiple scrum teams comprising of scrum masters, technical and quality leads and software and quality engineers. The Engineering Manager will have full accountability for the on-time project delivery from both business and technical perspectives. The role will require active coordination in a multi-site R&D setup (India, China, Japan and USA) and effective management of multiple cross-program dependencies!Key Accountabilities

  • Owns deliveries and schedules for multiple ongoing programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives and timelines are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Engages with program managers, peers at other R&D sites, technical leaders and executives to communicate projects status and raise issues.
  • Proactively finds opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Provides overall people-care management for staff - including, hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
  • Responsible for achievement of quality, process compliance and on time delivery goals for the projects. Identify and drive countermeasures in instances when project is overdue or exceeding budget
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s / Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with 12+ years of proven accomplishments
  • Strong people-management experience and 4 years in project management leading multi-disciplined projects.
  • Extensive experience leading agile teams and working with distributed scrum teams.
  • 8+ years of software development in technologies such as C++ / C# .Net. Preferred: Experience developing desktop applications using C# .Net and WPF.
  • Preferred: Experience working in Medical Device Engineering or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
  • Demonstrated engineering leadership with the ability to lead teams by influence in a matrix organization.
  • Proven success delivering products in a global R&D environment.
  • Readily accepts responsibility and accountability for project success and key decisions.
