Head of EngineeringWho We Are:Our clients platform helps developers engage, retain their users by allowing them to embed our In-App Chat and Messaging, Video and Voice through our Platform APIs and SDKs. Our goal is to offer products that drive high-level of engagement from their existing customers and retain them for life, we are the Twilio for IP Messaging.As Head of Engineering, you will join the senior management team in executing your vision for building a world-class engineering organization and have the immediate opportunity to partner with the organisation to recruit your team of choice.The Head of Engineering will take the leading role in growing our engineering organization from 5 to 50+ people and developing an enterprise-grade product suite over the next 5 years. As the strategic leader of engineering function, you will work hand-in-hand with our CEO to design most critical technology initiatives, refine engineering tools and processes, and upgrade the teams ability to tackle the most difficult challenges facing the field of real time communications. Culture might be a good fit for you if you- re looking for a highly collaborative environment where the entire company deeply respects and supports Engineerings workYoull be responsible for coming up with Technology strategy, execution, hiring and setting a foundation for major growth in 2021 and beyond.Who you are:You are Swiss Army Knife with a solid Engineering/Systems background,you have the ability to just get things done independently while building an amazing team.Technical:- Strong experience in Web Application Architectures, System Design, Distributed systems, Algorithms, Data Structures, Scalable and reliable systems- Multiple Full Web stack experience ( Front-end, Backend, Database etc), Deep expertise in 1-2 tech stacks ( C++, Java, Node, Go etc)- Experience running services, microservices in Cloud Native Environments- Have scaled 1-2 Product lines Zero to Millions of users- Drive and Implement best in class engineering practices- Experience with Ops - Network, Security, Reliability Engineering- Expertise in DevOps (CI, CD) and in Cloud native environments - public clouds, containers, serverless, kubernetes etc)Product:- Experience leading product and engineering teams that have built modern, enterprise-grade SaaS products with commercial success.- Experience working with product leaders ( VP, C level) or had reportees under him ( PMs, Senior PMs etc)- Familiarity with Data-driven methods to inform decisions about product, technical roadmapGeneral Traits:- Problem Solver ( this is a core trait irrespective of tech, product or business problem)- Ex-Entrepreneur and Self driven, motivated ( strong hunger to succeed) and keen to own outcomes- Managed a team of at least a team of 50+ Engineers, QA, DevOps, Release engineers etc and have 1-2 Director level reportees.- Have strong business and product mindset ( ability to collaborate with every functional guy and gain respect)- Ability to scale, learn quickly ( ability to work as individual contributor or manage a 250 member)- Humility and Ego ( at lowest levels)- Attract great talent ( set the bar high and help attract great talent)- Resource efficiency ( ability to pull things off with lean resources)- Ability to form strong partnerships with product, sales, customer success, and talent teamsOthers:Location : Bangalore or RemoteComp: Salary+Equity, Head of EngineeringWho We Are:Our clients platform helps developers engage, retain their users by allowing them to embed our In-App Chat and Messaging, Video and Voice through our Platform APIs and SDKs.
