Job Description

  • Take lead and responsibility for the design, reviews, and overall quality of the hardware
  • Documentation of design specifications and implementation details
  • Uphold hardware design standards and methodologies
  • Realization of complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable hardware solutions
  • Responsibility for the complete implementation of detailed technical items and an understanding/appreciation of system-level items
  • Collaboration with other team members (including both hardware and software engineers) to agree on system designs, interfaces, protocols and etc
  • Lead all engineering aspects of the development of electronics hardware
  • Ensure the engineering team is sufficiently resourced
  • Inspire and motivate the team
  • Work closely with other senior management members with strategic planning and engineering decisions
  • Evolve the companys processes to further product development speed, quality, and efficiency
  • Supplier and manufacturer sourcing, quotation, costing, and coordination up to product delivery
  • This is a player-coach role where you will be extensively involved in the design and development
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a comparable degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven design experience in the industry. Prior experience in the IoT industry is a big plus
  • Very good knowledge of embedded circuit development. Know-how of electro-mechanical and enclosure design is a plus point
  • Good understanding of IoT wireless communication technologies
  • Proficient in designing PCBs and schematic layouts
  • Excellent knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuit design
  • Hands-on experience with the soldering iron for the creation of test circuits
  • Knowledge of high-speed serial networks
  • Knowledge of RF electronics
  • Solid microcontroller programming skills in C/C++
  • Good understanding of one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience in using Git version control system
  • Experience in writing unit tests is preferred
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Able to support/debug hardware system integration
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skill in English
  • Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to learn with strong senses of responsibility
