Job Description

DescriptionThe position of CloudOps Manager collaborates with the Clinical Informatics (CITS) Senior Management, Software Development Managers, DevSecOps Manager, Global Tech Support, Vendors and DevSecOps team with the primary responsibility to drive CloudOps activities and management of cloud-based solutions. The selected candidate will work to create, enhance current practices in the CloudOps team and drive towards end to end automation of infrastructure, application setup and deployments. The role will require active coordination with multiple stakeholders across multiple Beckman R&D centers.Key Accountabilities
• Provide leadership for the CloudOps team that:
  • Enables provisioning of customer instances
  • Provides 24x7 monitoring & resolution of degradation of services for our cloud-based products
  • Ensures uptimes (Application and infrastructure health) dictated by SLAs
  • Supports multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Optimizes the deployment pipelines/utilization/costs (maybe shared with DevSecOps)
  • Provides data for audits (security/governance/compliance)
  • Proactive detection of issues prior to detection by impacted customers
  • Collaborate with global tech support for complex application issues.
• Drive CloudOps initiatives across the portfolio and suite of products (Clinical Decision Systems and Clinical Informatics BUs)
• Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
• Evaluates technological choices (network/hardware related, and technology/code related) by querying providers and providing evaluations of each solution include ROI evaluations in the present and future implications, limitations, and opportunities
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers, product owners, and subject matter experts
• Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing both routine and complex technical elements of technical operations
• Manages operational aspect of production and development servers including developing, training in, and validating compliance with procedures and checklists related to disk space usage, monitoring solutions, deployment, conventions, access to the production and development sources, source control access and usage, performance monitoring, code modifications validation, scheduling
• Participate in periodic vulnerability assessment and report findings to DevSecOps, product management and development teams.
• Develop mitigation/resolution strategy to vulnerabilities assessed, in conjunction with the development teams
• Supporting on-call rotation and resolution of issues in multi/hybrid cloud environment
• Appropriate escalation of delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes associated to the product development initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/a related field with 10+ years of proven appropriate experience or Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline; equivalent experience may be acceptable.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality results in a timely fashion while working on different projects concurrently.
• Strong experience in cloud environment (hybrid) and associated security configuration AWS, Azure, Oracle cloud
• Experience in DevSecOps/ DevOps management (including people management)
• Proficiency in common DevSecOps tools - CI/CD, Containers, Orchestration, Monitoring (Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Nexpose, Nessus, Burpsuite, SonarQube, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch)
• Familiarity with open-source technology, software development and scripting languages.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud-based deployments and best practices for large corporate environments to implement DevSecOps, CloudOps elements.
• Knowledge of infrastructure and application setup
• Strong understanding of agile development process.
• Experience managing information security in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Technical certifications preferred (AWS/ Azure/ Linux/Networking)
• Proficiency in Common security tools, encryption, Authentication & Authorization is a plus
• DevSecOps Maturity Model experience is a plus
• Excellent conceptual, problem-solving and oral/written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
