Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers critical applications for hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world.This role with Amazon Internet Services Private Limited (AISPL) will pivot on driving new business at scale in the different segments in Education, Not for Profit and Skilling. This person in this role will be a market creator and work closely with customers, marketing, and Partners to drive engagements that allow AISPL to address a broad market segment. The objective is to build an aspirational view of growing the business 10X in the next 3 years. The Strategic Business Development Manager- New Business, will work with the different leaders within the AISPL teams viz Edu team & subsegments like NPO, research, Skills , institutes space and programs ( E2W & Edstart ) to prioritize their areas of focus- and build a 3-year plan to achieve the business growth. This is the right role for someone with experience in the education sector in the areas of business development, large project management, new market creation and policy engagements. Key job responsibilities
    • Develop and implement Go to Market (GtM) strategies for new market creation with outcomes on business size, activities and messaging metrics to build awareness. This will include new business like NPO, International Business, ROE long tail, B2B Edtech s (Long tail); new ROE.
    • Understand the existing market landscape and create and execute a GtM plan for market expansion.
    • Look at expansion levers including understand the role of partners and leverage strategic programs traditional partners as well as programs with scale partners.
    • Drive critical analysis and recommendations on priority topics and escalations related to partnership/Go-To-Market strategy
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive support on strategic and operational initiatives that enable our goals
    • Work closely with marketing team to drive engagement on scale marketing (and think beyond BAU).
    • Work with other Amazon businesses including Retail; Amazon Pay, Video etc. to create joint marketing opportunities to build awareness.
    • Be the focal point for driving events/ actions that drive outcomes in the segments that have been selected.
    • Work with key strategic partners like Intel, AMD, Nvidia to build a partner business ground up.
    • Align with national policy bodies for education, digital governance and skilling to become a trusted partner.
    • Working with the Public Policy teams for continuous, proactive and strategic engagement on policy issues to ensure a favorable regulatory environment for AWS
    • Assist in the long-term opportunity identification in alignment with the AWS strategic priorities in India
    A day in the lifeThis role will require a continuous engagement with sales, business development, partner and marketing to identify areas if focus, prioritize medium to long term levers for execution. Identifying market research for the chosen subsegment ranging from long tail of Edtech s, greenfield startup engagement, institution replication of solutions, partner & distributor led acceleration of market creation, Research best practices customized for India and net new segments like new markets, NPO, health education, space and others. About the teamThis is a fastest growing education business in India. In India, public-sector this is the largest business contributor and market creator. Ranging from EdTech, institutions, research, skills, space and non-profits, this team has built and operating model that allows for scale of growth every year. This is a team of builders who have made it a habit to be successful on all engagements across customers, partners & government. High on creativity and always looking to join the dots to support customers., You have at least 10+ years experience, with several years in engaging with senior tertiary institution management/faculty and other agencies, preferably in the Public Sector. You have a solid experience in the IT industry. You have an entrepreneurial mindset, you love building businesses and have done it before. You are comfortable working with diverse teams across functions, with a proven record of bringing a higher level of performance and providing them direction to achieve their goals. You are an excellent public speaker. You enjoy spending time with customers, and have the ability to cultivate relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders. You have a distinctive ability to communicate complex ideas in succinct and compelling ways. Behavioral traits: Self-motivated, high passion, detail oriented ,tenacity, and drive for success, enjoys challenging assignments. A strong track record of success in previous roles, especially with large segment focused organizations Experience and understanding of government procurement processes. You are sharp, self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to build a plan and make things happen, while upholding honesty and integrity and without compromising attention to detail. Master s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
