The WHS Program Insights and Innovation (PI3) team is responsible for strategy development and execution related to managing our Health & Safety risks. We need to Think big and innovate across the globe collaborating with Amazon businesses, geographical regions and technical subject matter experts (SMEs). We are expanding our team and looking for a talented Safety in Design Engineering Program Manager in WHS PI3 Technical Solutions having significant experience with functional safety and electrical system design, Machine design, safety, PIT, process safety risk management, etc. This role requires development and implementation of safety design standards associated with equipment used within our Operations, developing feasible solutions to reduce risk, researching various safety risk topics including advances in controls, keeping up to date with best practices for electrical systems, deep diving into injuries to ensure root-cause has been appropriately identified, data analytics and document technical writing. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in technical writing is a must along with your ability to analyze data and drive results!). This will be an office-based role supporting our Sr. World Wide Safety in Design team, which is a part of Global Safety Engineering. The role will not include hands on field execution.This is a people manager role where you get to manage functional safety design standards for equipment used globally at Amazon.Develop functional safety validation tests to be used by field engineers.Manage SIM requests from WHS field or other groups.Advise safety, engineering and operations teams on Amazon Safety Standards, other safety regulations and regulatory compliance concerns relating to Functional/Electrical/Mechanical/Process safety.Perform safety risk assessments and regulatory compliance reviews on equipment and operations processes.Work with various teams to review new and modified equipment and provide direction on WW Safety Standards.Develop or maintain tools and processes to support the implementation of WW Safety Standards.Support maintaining all regulatory compliance documentation from a global perspective to ensure accurate and up to date adherence to set standards.Have a knowledge and understanding of certification bodies for approvals and CE marking and manage projects related to certifications that comply with local, national and international regulations.Working knowledge of integrating new systems into new and existing work environments.Basic Qualification- 7+ years direct experience in Safety/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering. Bachelor degree in engineering, safety or a related field. Knowledge of CE directives and ISO, OSHA, CFR, ANSI, HAZOP/LOPA NFPA regulations.
