POSITION SUMMARY Incumbent will be responsible to accomplish task through direct supervision. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Incumbent will monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to subordinates as required. Additionally, Incumbent is also expected to accomplish technical tasks in an individual capacity. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and execute design, test, and certification activities of embedded electronics in support of new product development programs.
• Plan and execute maintenance and support activities for embedded electronics to align with production and customer commitments.
• Develop near-term and long-term strategic plans to provide growth opportunities for team members in the areas of technical/personal development as well as development of leadership capabilities.
• Develop near-term and long-term strategic plans to foster innovation in the areas of new product development and design, test, and certification process execution.
• Guide the design, test, and certification teams to reach solutions to complex technical issues. Must be able to understand complex technical issues as well as the work-scope and risks associated with different alternatives.
• Lead the continuous improvement of Textron Aviation s embedded electronics design activities, test activities, as well as certification processes and procedures.
• Participate in integrated engineering team meetings and guides/coordinates tasks of multiple internal disciplines.
• Communicate status information to all levels of management and external audiences including: customers, FAA and others.
• Develops own managerial skills through training, professional organizations, and published information. Recognizes team members who are capable of leadership roles (supervisory and technical) and develops these team members through appropriate training and coaching
