Job Description

    Role Definition:
    • This role is to lead technical projects in powertrain engineering teams for Heavy duty Commercial Engines design and development programs
    • Lead responsibilities will include management of multiple projects, their respective teams and respective stakeholders (eg: Global business partners, suppliers, etc.)
    Role Expectations:
    • Ability to lead component/system responsibility for Series / New development components
    • Experience in lifecycle management for engine components
    • Exposure to failure management (Development and Field)
    • Capable to handle independently or with minor supervision
    • Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports
    • Exposure to Engine testing and validation test procedures and processes, homologation and certification requirements
    • Translating activities from global project plans, managing stakeholders, driving the projects.
    • Hands on UG NX, PLM tools smaragd / similar tools. Good exposure to sheet metal, casting & manufacturing processes, structural and modal analysis on NX
    • Expertise in GD&T, 2-dimensional tolerance stack up analysis, familiar with ISO/DIN standards.
    • Awareness to global emissions standards and regulations
    • Able to manage a team, represent in-group meetings, preparing minutes of meeting task prioritizing, flexible approach, ability to negotiate with relevant stakeholders
    • Ability to grasp changing scenarios and adjust priorities, accordingly, understand dependencies.
    • Driving Innovation by bringing-in a culture towards problem identification, development of problem statements, generation of new ideas towards solution, create proof of Concepts and build a strong case for patenting and early industrialization
    • Creation and execution of program/project strategy with roadmap at the team level to continuously expand the current horizon of the present work share at Bangalore
    • Flexible to travel globally based on business need to participate in various supplier discussions, technical and management discussions
    • Design and development of components, DVP, FMEA, Failure analysis, Product ownership, Stakeholder management, DMU
    Essential Experience:
    • 5+ years working experience on Engine design and development
    • Prior experience on leading engine development projects
    • Deep understanding of the technology / systems engineering is essential for this role.
    • Demonstrated credentials on driving innovation
    • Demonstrated credentials on building project/program strategy
    Soft Skills Required
    • Demonstrates good business acumen, strong inter-personal relationship skills, excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Assertive and good listener
    • Intercultural experiences and knowledge of German/Japanese language also preferred
