Software EngineerThe Software Engineering team delivers Enterprise Hardware Platform enablement and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.Join us as a Software Engineer Engineering Development on our Engineering Development team in Bangalore to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you ll achieve As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Engineering team on specific projects in the areas of Enterprise Windows Server operating systems on Dell Platforms. You will be leading the engineering relationship between Dell and the OS Partner. The job also involves coordinating with various stake holders internal and external for platform enablement with Enterprise Windows OS.You will:
• Validate and debug issues in platform enablement end-to-end : Setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards, firmware, BIOS etc, characterize, contain issues and root cause defects of reasonable to high complexity on multiple Windows Server operating systems
• Interface with Microsoft and other dell teams as required in root causing issues. Provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and drive issue resolution.
• Build rapport with the vendors and the extended teams. Work in coordination with the teams to achieve engineering objectives.
• Study new technologies offered by Dell & Microsoft and deliver value adds in those areas.
• Assist other internal engineering teams, as and when needed to resolve OS issues.

• Should have a strong background in computer hardware, especially CISC architecture, Windows Internals and conceptual understanding of OS. Device Driver Development background will be a plus.
• Should have good conceptual understanding of networking, storage and system management subsystems.
• Should have good exposure to programming languages and scripting. Should be familiar with software development life cycle.
• Must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues. Should have solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior Experience in Windows debugging, sys-internal tools and test automation will be a plus.
