Act Innovate Partner are the values we live by.Digital vertical which is part of the Communication & Media Solutions (CMS) Group, is recruiting R&D Software Development Engineer to build product and solution and delivering a value to the customers.In HPE CMS, you will join a highly experienced R&D team using modern technologies and techniques thru agile methodologies to strengthen the current solution but also to be part of building the future of HPE, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency: sub-millisecond processing times, 99.999+% availability, high performance computing.Together we are spearheading the organization and the company in this Mobility world.The candidate will ideally have good testing experience and subject matter knowledge to help deliver good quality complex business solutions in either Telecom Carrier Cloud, Network Function Virtualization Solutions and/or virtualization, cloud and Core Networking.Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a telecommunication service provider (CSP) business and architectural initiative to greatly reduce the capital and operational expenditure needed to build and operate telecommunications networks. The premise of NFV is that aggressive and systematic adoption of IT business models and open architectures based on IT technologies will achieve these goals.ABOUT THE ROLEIn the role of senior Telco NFV Infrastructure Engineer, the candidate will work closely with the CIS Telco Engineering team to identify, stand up the right combination of hardware (server, storage and switches) and accessories that are specific to the NFVi use cases. He/she needs to have rich experience of doing so in a data center labs that caters to such needs of Telco R&D teamsThe ideal candidate will possess 4 to 5 years of mandatory deep knowledge in the following areas:

• Setting up and configuring infrastructure based on HPE servers (Proliant DLs, Synergy/C7000 blades, Edgeline series, etc.), Storage (Nimble, 3PAR, CEPH) and Switches (preferably HPE Comware 59XX series, Aruba data center switch series, white box configuration using Cumulus, ONIE)
• Create and optimize the Bill Of Material for Data Center equipment; identify and correct compatibility issues across the DC infrastructure (servers, switches, storage, cables, inter connects, HDD/SSD options, etc)
• Define server to switch Port connections, create rack diagram visio, Power calculation (both AC and DC) for Date Center deployments
• Hands-on experience in Install, administer and troubleshoot, Configuration, Virtualization Technologies of VMware ESXi, vCenter & vSphere solutions.
• Hands-on experience in Installation, administration and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems. Take up day-to-day tasks such as OS provisioning, PXE/iPXE setup, etc
• Firmware upgrades for the lab infrastructure
• Understand and debug complex IP/ VLAN addressing allocation, management, and routing concepts in data centers. Strong analytical and problem solving skills; verifying, troubleshooting, correcting problems remotely in Data Center Infrastructure including routers, switches, NIC configurations, etc
• Maintain the lab equipment inventory up-to-date. Serve as escalation point for critical issues.
• Well versed in Scrum/Agile methodologies and good documentation skills
• Exposure working on Composable infrastructure
• Exposure configuring platforms based on Intel/AMD processors, NICs from different vendors Intel/Mellanox,, hardware configuration for best performance such as DIMM population, NIC adapter placement
• Exposure to infrastructure management and analytic tools such as BMC, HPE ILO, HPE OneView, Infosight etc.
• Experience in optimizing rack layout for thermal and weight distribution, airflow etc.
• Experience in optimizing switch port density such as by defining non-blocking network connectivity between access and core layers suitable for an NFV deployment. Experience with TOR L2, L3 configuration and debugging. Also worked on configuring protocols such as LACP
• Experience in planning for hardware procurement

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 4-5 years experience.

Preferred skills:

• Experience in continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins)
• Infrastructure provisioning (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible) using the principles of Infra-As-A-Code
• Good understanding of web server technologies, VPN, FTP, NTP and DNS.
• Scripting experience (Shell script, python) Useful for automation basic infra validations.
• OpenStack knowledge
• Work effectively in a geographically-distributed teams including vendors and partners
• Work experience with 4G/5G technologies, and a good understanding of evolving cloud based virtualization architectures, with exposure to design and architectures for tier 1 operators and large/ medium size cloud services providers.
• Background of HPE and/or other vendors Servers, Networking, Storage infrastructure
