The Data & Analytics team is the engine that powers JPMorgan Chase with insights to create competitive advantages for our business and deliver value for our customers. We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance. Within this organization, the Decision Sciences team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience. The Role The industry is rapidly changing and JPMorgan Chase is transforming our wealth management business to accelerate growth. We are looking for talented data scientists to help execute our analytic strategies for the newly formed JPMorgan Wealth Management (JPMWM) business unit which includes financial advisors, and our online investing platforms. Reporting to the JPMWM Marketing Analytics Manager, this role will be central in understanding how to improve our targeting, make funnel conversion more efficient, and optimize messaging across our continuum of investment solutions. Key Responsibilities This is hands-on, technical role so we re looking for exceptionally creative, ambitious, data curious thinkers and statisticians who can help take our marketing analytics to the next level. A typical day might include:
    • Developing a testing strategy to identify what drives a prospect to respond to self-directed investing, full service wealth management, or a hybrid solution marketing message
    • Performing a cluster analysis to identify natural grouping of customers to target for an upgrade offer
    • Predicting a segment s unique financial needs within the first 3 months on book to improve engagement and deepening with new clients
    • Developing dashboards to monitor KPIs, activity metrics, demographics, and campaign outcomes as compared to marketing benchmarks and trends
    • Analyzing activities and behaviors within targeted populations to determine the incremental impact of our marketing channels and messages
    • Integrating valuation and channel insights into an overall perspective on firm marketing effectiveness
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor s / Masters Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field with 4+ years of data science experience
    • Have experience analyzing marketing campaign results using tools like R, PYTHON or SAS and can effectively use that data to forecast the financial impacts of future marketing efforts
    • Experience in wrangling large, complex datasets, strong database skills and ability to write, optimize and tune complex SQL scripts
    • Possess a unique combination of technical skills, mathematical know-how, storytelling, and intuition in order that allow you to speak the languages of art and science to develop strong brand, product, and channel marketing strategies and tactics
    • Stay abreast of new applications in machine learning, deep learning, and AI but can recognize and apply the right technologies when the challenge you are solving is less complex
    • Understand the complexities of marketing attribution and know how to navigate working with campaign specific measurement strategies as well as standardized performance reporting to facilitate investment prioritization
    • Are passionate about experimental design and know the best way to test targeting, messaging, and channel mix to improve marketing performance
    • Have a demonstrated ability to think both independently and collaboratively to implement creative solutions that solve business problems, being diligent in the detail while maintaining focus on broader purpose and business objectives
    • Are comfortable summarizing complex information to tell a simple story of what happened and why with recommendations to influence senior management
    Bonus points if you:
    • Have prior experience working in an insights function at a financial services firm or a marketing/advertising agency
    • Have prior experience with finance-driven marketing and can use modeled PV outputs to determine targeting or offer thresholds
    • Are trained in statistical principles including experimental design and analysis of variance, probability theory, and sampling theory; additional points if you have an advanced degree in Statistics or a related discipline
    • Are proficient with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Tableau, Shiny Dashboards)
    • Are a lifelong learner and hold a growth mindset; we welcome individuals who geek out on industry podcasts, stay abreast of cutting edge techniques, or participate in KDD and Kaggle competitions for fun and love to share what they are learning with the rest of the team
