There is a large focus on innovation, inclusion, giving back to the community and sharing knowledge.Department profileWealth Management and Investment Management Technology (WMIMT) is responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical platform behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Business.The position is for Morgan Stanley Advisory Technology team that develops and supports the advisory account management platform for Client, Financial Advisors, Portfolio Directors and Trading Desks activities.Role Description As Vice President in the organization you will identify, develop and hire an excellent team of engineers to define, drive and execute complex projects that are organizational priorities. You will build a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with our internal stakeholders and firm wide technology teams. Responsibilities - Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant business impact - Project management - prioritization , planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments - As a hands on specialist develop and deliver complex features and reusable architectural components - Recommend alternative technical approaches, and lead engineering efforts to provide optimal solutions. - Instill a culture of continuous improvement within the team and demonstrate measurable improvements - Implement DevOps best practice for monitoring & operation of production services - Career management and development of direct reports, *Basic Qualification- 10+ years of experience in Java and big data technologies- Proficiency in SOLR/Elastic Search- Proficiency in one or more general purpose big data languages - Hadoop, Hive, HDFS and Spark- Strong understanding of data exchange formats(Jason/Xml), web services and data structure fundamentals- Good knowledge of cloud native architecture- Strong experience in Agile development and DevOps practices- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualification- Experience in Python or Spark MQ- Experience in Wealth Management/ Investment Banking domain
