Job Description

    You will work very closely with:BMC Helix Cloud Operations & DevOps TeamBMC R&D TeamsBMC Support Teams Customer Support, Database, Networking, Security and Server.About the JobAs a key DBA resource, you ll be focused on day-to-day production operational tasks, database administration and automation of database services & solutionsYou ll primarily working with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server database administrationSecondarily working with Casandra, MongoDB and MySQLSupport OLTP and OLAP applicationsProvide proactive tuning and capacity optimization of databases supporting BMC Helix products & servicesDrive & support automation and compliance efforts of database solutions & associated technologiesWork with peer DBAs and other peer teams as a subject matter expert on specified database solutions & associated technologiesSupport BCP & DR activities of database technologies including database backups/recoveryWork with product teams and make recommendations on SQL & NOSQL engineeringTake part in 24/7 on-call rotations and shift rotations as requiredExperienceExpert knowledge & experience with PostgreSQLExperience working with Microsoft SQL ServerExperience working with physical, virtual, AWS (RDS & Aurora) and AZURE (MI & Hyperscale) database environmentsExperience working with database technology high-availability solutions (PostgreSQL Replication/Clustering, SQL Server Logshipping/Mirroring/AlwaysON/Clustering)Experience working with database scripting using PostgreSQL, T-SQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQLExperience working with operating systems using Linux and WindowsExperience working with performance analysis & tuning of database applications or other similar OLTP/OLAP applicationsWorking knowledge with Cassandra, MongoDB and MySQLWorking knowledge with automation & scripting using Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShellWorking knowledge with SQL and NOSQL solutions in the marketAdept at working with product teams on database best practicesGood understanding of Compliance & Governance, Change Control, Security and Security practicesExperience working with peer DBAs and global teams located across the globe in different time zonesCalm under pressure with demanding, dynamic, fast paced agile Saas Operations and with shifting prioritiesIf you know about the following is a plusBMC Helix Products including Remedy ITSM, MyIT, SmartIT, SmartReporting, DWP, BPPM (Patrol), TrueSight Suite, BladeLogic, End User Experience Manager (Coradiant), Control-MKnowledge of monitoring technologies including agent, agentless, synthetic and real user including BMC Patrol, Solarwinds DPA, Prometheus with Kibana/GrafanaKnowledge of HDS (Hitachi), AWS EBS/S3 storage technologiesOther SQL database technologies including OracleITIL Practices & Agile methodologies,
