Job Description of Mechanical EngineerPosition Responsibilities: Ensure that device development meets targeted clinical application through systematic conversion of system requirements into sub-systems requirments, specification, solutions that meet technical, schedule and cost constraintsEvaluate device use cases to define sub- system requirements and evaluate technical tradeoffsDefine Mechanical requirements for the product; come up with custom made parts design; off the shelf items selection and ensure sub-system meets susb-system requirements.Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure safe operation of the productParticipate in strategic discussions and own the technology development for the future generation of the productManage PLM of the sub-system and system using PLM tools like Agile & WindchillManage, track and upgrade hardware configuration of system / sub-system set-ups in the labsCollaborate with System, Electronics, Software, Chemical, Quality and Regulatory colleagues to ensure compliance with corporate, business unit and global standards applicable to the productBasic Qualifications: B.E. from reputed university in Mechanical / Industrial/ Biomedical Engineering5+ years of total work experience as a mechanical engineer in the design and development of complex electro-mechanical devices controlled by SWWorking knowledge in valves and manifolds, pumps, heaters, assembly of complex mechanisms.Demonstrated ability to create a complete electromechanical assembly including mechanical packaging and enclosure design.Design tool knowledge of PTC CREO (formerly ProE) & Solidworks for mechanical design / modelingKnowledge in Product Data and Lifecycle Management Tool - PTC PDMLink (formerly known as Windchill)Expertise with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPointKnowledge of medical device quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14791, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and thoroughnessAble to work in direct, cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with strong influencing skillsAble to participate in late evening and/or early morning callsSelf-starter, strong work ethic and initiative in accomplishing objectives, and delivering in ambiguous environmentsDesired/Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of define/collection of system requirements, decompose them to sub -system requirments & come up with design inputs especially as applicable to healthcare sectorWorking knowledge of hardware and electromechanical engineering concepts (Pumps, heaters, motors, sensors, valves, fluid circuits, etc.)Full product lifecycle experience (concept/prototyping, development, test, release, post-release)Knowledge of Agile methodology for software / product development
