Job Description

  1. Working on File permissions and Special Permissions. Providing SUDO access.
  2. Setting up the sticky bit , suid ,sgid and ACL for file and directories
  3. Working on NFS configurations and creating new NFS shares and resolving the issues related to that.
  4. Yum configuration for patching the servers. Performs quarterly Server patching.
  5. Creating and Managing File Systems and Building & Maintaining Storage Volumes using Logical Volume Manager (LVM).
  6. Creating automating jobs using crontab and at commands.
  7. Improving the system performance by incrementing system Swap Space via adding Swap Partition in a live system and implementing Swap Partition and Swap File.
  8. Good Knowledge on SSH Key Generation Process.
  9. Install the Packages by using RPM and YUM commands.
  10. Good experience on creating Users, Groups and handling User-Management issues.
  11. Assuring system security with the utilities TCP-Wrappers, SELinux and IPTables.
  12. Troubleshooting and fine tuning Servers performances, such as issues with Swap Space, CPU Utilization and Memory Utilization.
  13. Building the Local Repositories for updating and installing required Packages.
  14. Monitoring the servers for proactive and reactive management. Monitoring system performance using top, iostat, vmstat, netstat etc, and troubleshooting the daily CPU and Disk related issues.
  15. Working on Linux Networking, Bonding configuration and Troubleshooting Network related issues.
