Job Description

Constructive thinking is required.POSITION IN THE ORGANISATIONResponsible for driving EHS program,ensuringadherence to driving standards.POSITION SUMMARYTo drive EHS initiatives and improvementsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for implementing the Safety, Health and Environment management programs in the plant
    • Should have the ability to implement EHS systems & working standards and influence the plant for implementation
    • Carrying out EHS Risk assessment and initiating corrective & preventive measures
    • Should have a thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and ILO standards for sustaining and improving the EHS Management systems in place.
    • Conducting EHS audits, Internal audits
    • Ensure system of Accident and incident investigations and analysis - recording, reporting, Investigations, Corrective measures and Analysis.
    • Spearheading the EHS improvements within the plant, Identifying, conceptualizing and implementing improvement projects related to EHS.
    • Handling improvement projects related to EHS
    • Monitoring & measurement of EHS performance.
    • Developing training modules and Training of plant personnel in EHS
    • Ensure all production activities inside the plant are in line with Saint-Gobain EHS guidelines.
    • Implementing the work permit systems for various activities and monitoring the effectiveness of the same
    • Responsible for EHS compliance of new projects / processes or changes
    • Responsible for statutory compliances & coordination with statutory agencies related to Factory inspectorate, Pollution control board, Explosives Department and other agencies related to EHS of the division.
    • Responsible for the ensuring the appropriate operation, maintenance and improvements related to the pollution control systems like ETP, Air Pollution control equipment like acoustic enclosures, Fume extraction systems, DC systems etc.
    • Coordinating for monitoring of environmental releases like stack emissions, ambient air quality monitoring etc. Recording the same and analysis of the data.
    • Coordination related to statutory inspections like Lifting tackles, pressure vessels, CEIG, pollution controls etc., related to the division.
    • Responsible for carrying out emergency response and mock drills in the plant.
    • Carrying out industrial hygiene studies related to exposure to dust, chemicals, heat stress, light, ventilation and ergonomics. Analysis of the findings of the Industrial hygiene studies.
    • Responsible for outlining the road map for EHS improvements within the plant including EHS budgets.
    • Monitoring & measurement of EHS performance EHS Plans, Projects, EMPs etc.,
    • Responsible for employee interface should drive the working of EHS committees, EHS standards, Cross audits and other measures aimed at improved EHS culture
    • Responsible for construction site safety as and when constructions take place
    • Coordinating the medical surveillance program within the plant
    SKILLSFunctional
      1. Technical knowledge and knowledge related to ISO, OSHAS requirements
      2. Knowledge of Factories Act.
      3. Knowledge of legal requirements
      4. Knowledge / Exposure of planning & scheduling
      5. Basic knowledge of Operation tools
      6. Cross-functional coordination
      7. Knowledge of WCM tools
