Proposals / Deal Desk Manager:- Exp. Required:- 10-20 Yrs Job Location:- Bangalore Key Functions and Overview:This roll will: (1) Manage transactional proposal (2) Provide resources to APAC EMEA pursuits (3) Develop and improve deal desk processes and toolsDeal Desk Share Services team has a core function to (1) manage transactional deals and (2) provide resources towards supporting strategic sales pursuits. As manager of that team, you would have demonstratable enterprise experience in deal desk / bid management activities management. You would also have proven experience in managing and developing human resources in the bid management domain.Your primary role will be to select, motivate, develop and drive deal-team resources towards defined (and highly visible) deal pursuit activities.You will oversee day-to-day transactional quotations and proposals, as well as assign resources to the Proposal Managers in EMEA and APAC to act as proposal leads, technical writers or pricing analysts.Through cross functional interaction with the Business and Market Development Infrastructure team, you will define and enhance standard operating processes and tools that will be used by your shared services team in the executive of their duties.As an internal service provider, you will be measured in the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of your team, and will be required to establish, maintain and report transparent dashboard Key Performance Indicators. You over-arching measure will be tied directly to sales win-rates for the regions you support.You will be a mature self-starter, taking long-term project initiatives for improvements, and execute on those objectives throughout a multi-year timeframe.Roles & Responsibilities:- Acts as a focal point of contact for assigned transactional deals across EMEA and APAC. Manages day to day operations for the Shared Service Deal Desk for transactional activities. Reviews and defines the short-term and long-term talent developmental goals for the Shared Services Deal Desk team Proven leadership skills to continually improve and streamline working practices, tools and processes Engages with APAC and EMEA sales and marketing team leadership team to ensure operational performance and activities are aligned to the strategic needs of the business Supports strategic pursuits on RFx submissions by providing key resources towards response writing, deal coordination and pricing/cost analysis. Closely coaching resources assigned to regional proposal managers on quality, processes, tools and ensure their effective contribution towards the assigned pursuit objective and deal manager. Participate in deal shaping, deal approvals, deal quality reviews and win strategy sessions. Produces KPIs on Deal Desk performance for continuous improvementMain Internal Stakeholders:- Business and Market Development teams Opportunity Pursuit Team members, for supporting responses to customer proposals, demos, and proof-of-concepts Sellers Product managers, across all Itron product lines Service delivery resources Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from various domains (e.g. Quality, Logistics, Security, R&D, etc.) Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of Deal Desk / Bid Management and/or Sales Operations supporting business-to-business enterprise pursuits Good understanding and experience of Deal Desk and Bid Management processes to support customer proposals. Experience with RFXs and working with different commercial models and pricing structures Customer-focused and self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through Strong writing skills A technical and analytical mindset Comfortable communicating with, and gaining consensus from, internal leadership teams. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders. Preferred Qualification: Bachelor s Degree, preferrable (but no mandatory) in an Engineering field Certification from APMP Association for Proposal Management Professionals (www. apmp.org practitioner or professional level) Ability to recruit and develop high performing teams Experience in developing standards, procedures, and cadence for key business operations.Geographical scope: EMEA & APACTravel requirements: 10-15%, internationalPortfolio Scope: All Itron solutions: Utility and Smart City,
