Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor s degree; or 8 years and a Master s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience
  • Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools; knowledge of ProE/NX
  • Strong hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills
  • Succinct presentation skills; present progress on large cross-functional initiatives at executive-level meetings
  • Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management
  • Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Organize, participate, and lead in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of hardware associated with new semiconductor equipment
  • Develop and present reports/presentations that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at executive-level meetings
  • Directly support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
  • Analyze designs developed may need to perform structural analysis (FEA), thermal analysis and fluid flow analysis
  • Conduct feasibility studies including generation of well documented test plans
  • Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation
  • Communicate among diverse teams (process engineers, technicians, software/controls, suppliers, etc.)
  • Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives
  • Provide work leadership and training to junior and new engineers
Mandatory Skills
  • Develop and design critical mechanical systems and sub-systems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment including process chambers, vacuum systems, gas and liquid chemical delivery, pedestals, and showerheads as well as thermal, pressure, valve and motion controls.
  • Good Design understanding on Systems Instrumentations (Sensors in Thermal/Flow subsystems)
  • Highly skilled in managing/working with interdisciplinary (analytical approach to problem-solving statics, dynamics, thermal, flow, application of statistical methods or combinations of these, etc.) engineering departments in realizing project goals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and business effective presentation skills
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Established ability to contribute insightful technical ideas to other engineers design work, machine systems, and new hardware/application scoping.
  • Working knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D & 5-Whys Problem solving
Desirable Skills
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge like - machining (conventional & non-conventional), welding, installation and assembling of big component, sheet metal fabrication
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in plasma and/or thermal CVD/ALD deposition reactors is a plus
  • Understanding RF Systems/Networks
  • Good understanding of semiconductor capital equipment industrial standards is a plus
  • Experience with Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of SEMI standards
