Job Description

The Enterprise Platform Services (EPS) team is responsible for building Foundational Platforms & service capabilities like Notifications, Location Services, Enterprise Search, Web Crawler etc. Our vision, One PayPal One Platform, is to enable a consistent foundational platform capability across PayPal Inc. An ideal candidate for this role is someone with strong foundations in software development with experience designing/architecting/building large scale platforms and applications. The role will involve working with business teams, product teams, architects and engineers located across our global offices.Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of large scale distributed platforms & service capabilities.
  • Actively work towards developing products that meet high standards of security, scalability, performance and reliability.
  • Act as a bridge between product and technology teams and marry business needs with technology solves.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Be a hands-on individual contributor, who can design solutions, code them, as well as review the deliverables of other team members.
  • Research, assess, and recommend external technologies and products for their applicability to complex project requirements and contribute to the development of new company concepts.
  • Sense evolving business trends and translate them into needs into technology solves.
  • Demonstrate a customer centric mindset as part of day-day work.
  • Represent the company in external industry and academic forums.
Job Requirements
  • BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in designin/building highly scalable, highly concurrent platforms that can support millions of requests per second.
  • Hands on Programming expertise in Java/J2EE with a specific focus on large scale distributed systems.
  • Exposure to Reactive programming paradigms like RxJava is a big plus
  • Have strong foundational knowledge in REST API development, Object-Oriented Design Principles & standards, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering
  • Proven track record of delivering results in an aggressive and fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
