About IP Optical Networks Our IP/Optical Networks business group (ION) includes IP, optical and network automation technologies and related services sold to our communication service provider customers as well as adjacent markets including webscale companies and enterprises. Our comprehensive wide area networking (WAN) solutions enable our customers to build and operate automated, secure, and high-performance networks at massive scale helping to interconnect people and things from any broadband access modality to and among - edge clouds, central clouds, the Internet, and other services and data centers. The key purpose of the role is to carry out SW/HW upgrades , integration, migration of IP Network Elements. The solutions will be based on Nokia IP equipment.Main areas of responsibilityConfiguration and integration of ALU network components in CLI or NMS systemsHW/SW upgrades, performing backups, troubleshootingMigration of live network services remotely or on site using CLI, NMS , bespoke toolsWork with field engineers to ensure configuration is installed, error free and ready for testingAdherence to technical procedures and network security access policiesKey Skills and Experienceminimum of 8+ years of telecom experience in IP/MPLS domainGood knowledge of IP technical solutions - IPV4, IPV6, routing, switching, mplsUnderstanding of Service providers network operationUnderstanding of ip/mpls, services l2 vpn, l3 vpn , vllHands-on in configuring routers/switches with Command Line Interface , Nokia, Cisco, JuniperNokia NRS1 of other vendors equivalent (e.g CCNACisco, JNCIA Juniper)good practical knowledge of 5620 SAM (NE integration, SW upload & upgrade, backups) alarm monitoring and interpretation will be a plusKey AttributesAble to work on own initiativeMethodicalCulturally adaptable and flexibleAbility to assimilate quickly and act decisivelyProactive attitude in a teamwork jobThink out of boxExcellent communication attitudes and capability to manage solid relationships with people of different cultureWilling to learnReady to work nightshiftsCan travel for business, even at short noticeCan work under pressure of timeCan handle several tasks at the same time.Can work in front of customer representing NSDCaccountable, diligent, calm,Experience 9 to 12 years.Working knowledge of Configuration Management, Network Automation, Workflows, Monitoring, TroubleshootingGood understanding of Software design principles including Object oriented conceptsWorking knowledge of Networking concepts, IT & OperationsWorking experience in automating network services (Switching, Routing, Application Delivery)Excellent Programming skills in Python strong Objected Oriented Design experience.Experience with Linux / Unix system programming, multithreading etc.Good knowledge on the test methodologies, end-end product integration and feature validationExposure to virtualization (Hypervisor/VMware)Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to build consensus among people with strong opinionsExperience programming with of Ansible and REST APIsFamiliarity with Openstack Networking, AWS and other Cloud APIsImagine creating technology that has the potential to change the world.
