Job Description

Role: Senior Performance EngineerPosition Description: The Senior Performance engineer, Engineering is primarily responsible for driving performance and stability improvements of the Various components, the architecture and integrations to ensure optimal end user experience by working closely with the Development, Quality Engineering, Database and Operations teams.Relevant Years of Experience: 5+Position summary:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or MCA.
  • 5 to 6 years of experience specifically on performance engineering
  • Develop sound methodologies for accurate performance comparisons
  • Develop standard benchmarks for performance measurement
  • Analyze tests results and work with Developers and Engineers to perform bug fixes.
  • Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability.
  • Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and suggest corrective actions.
  • Evaluate & Oversee system performance lifecycle and identify key metrics for performance improvements.
  • Hands on experience in establishing performance bench mark/baseline for mobile application development, web application development
  • Develop performance centric data analytics features in SaaS/Cloud products
  • Generate periodic performance reports for management review.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge and working experience with Performance Center, Wiley, HP Site scope and other latest Performance Engineer & Performance Testing tools (i.e. CA Lisa Virtualization) and Open Source performance testing tools ( Apache JMeter, WebLOAD etc) - Waterfall, V-model
  • Work with team members to define/enhance processes and strategies associated with performance engineering.
  • Applies appropriate performance engineering technologies to meet the short and long term goals of the testing organization with a focus on improving overall performance efficiency
  • Troubleshoot performance issues in collaboration with architecture and development teams. Performs root cause analysis and drives issues to appropriate resolutions.
  • Works with project teams, Architecture teams, agile teams and QA test leads to establish performance testing scope and effort.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail at all times; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Technical Skills - Pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.

  • Must have strong understanding of the monitoring solutions and KPIs used to determine availability and performance of the technology stacks of the following: (Web (Apache), Application (JBOSS or WebLogic or WebSphere), and Database (SQL or DB2)).
  • Must have experience using diagnostic tools like Dynatrace, HTTP Watch, Fiddler, IE and Chrome Developer Tools, AppDynamics
