PLATFORM DESIGN ENGINEER THE ROLE: This job opening is for a platform design designer in a team responsible for high-complex platform design in AMD s microprocessor designs. With a good mix of experienced designers and recent college graduates from top Engineering institutions across the country, this team offers a very competitive atmosphere with excellent scope to learn and improve. THE PERSON: Ideal candidate would be the one with not only strong platform design knowledge, but also clear communication and presentation skills along with diligent documentation of work. Passion to go beyond the call of duty and innovate for higher efficiency would be a key differentiator. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Complete ownership of complex platform design.
    • Responsible for circuit design, layout review, SI/PI review, and reliability checks.
    • Interface with cross-functional teams like Layout, SI/PI, Mechanical/Thermal, FW, BIOS.
    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
    • Excellent knowledge on platform/board design concepts (Schematics/Layout).
    • Very good knowledge on all design analysis (Noise Margin, Power Analysis, Basic SI/PI/EMI/EMC/ESD Concepts)
    • Hands-on experience in SI/PI analysis with any one of the following tool
      • Hyper Lynx (Mentor Tool chain)
      • Allegro PCB SI (Cadence Tool chain)
      • ADS 3D simulation exposure
    • Platform Board bring-up & testing.
    • Debugging and interface functional validation.
    • Good knowledge and Implementation experience of PCIe, DDR, USB, ETH, I2C, SPI, HDMI, DP specification/design requirements.
    • Good understanding of Design concepts in terms of circuit design/Power supply Design/layout/testing/validation.
    • Layout review and co-ordination with cross functional teams
    • Hands-on with Lab tools like Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Analyzers, and hands-on experience in doing simple Rework.
    • Interaction with cross functional teams (FW/BIOS/LAYOUT/Mechanical/Thermal)
    • Knowledge on CPLD/FPGA concepts and simple decoding logic implementation (Verilog or VHDL) would be added advantage
    ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
    • B.E/B.Tech (EEE, ECE)
    • M. Tech (Embedded, Power) - Preferred
