Job Description

    You are an experienced software engineer in test (SET or SDET). You have the skills of a software developer and the mind of a tester, as you will develop both manual protocols and automated checks. You use critical thinking and exploration to identify potential defects. Your product line of focus will be liquid handling systems for medical research.
    • Collaborate with a cross-functional, cross-site team of developers and product owners
    • Review software requirements, designs, and code with a focus on testability and finding problems early
    • Plan and perform testing appropriate for the feature under test, including exploratory testing that does not involve writing automated checks
    • Design and implement robust, maintainable automated checks and supporting frameworks
    • Participate in planning and estimation activities
    • Document and perform all software test and verification work meeting company procedures as well as applicable regulations and standards
    • Continue to learn about software testing, testability, and maintainability
    Qualifications
    • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
    • 2+ years of combined experience in commercial software development and/or testing
    • 1+ years of experience writing and maintaining automated checks
    • Ability to read and understand object-oriented programming languages
    • Foundational computer programming skills and ability to write production-level code
    • Comfortable learning and using unfamiliar languages and technologies
    • Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Familiarity with Delphi, C++, and COM
    • Experience in performance testing and/or security testing
    • Software testing experience in machine automation, robotics, liquid handling, or laboratory instrumentation
    • Experience in the software verification of medical devices and working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation
