Job Description

    Position OverviewAs part of the Product Management team, the Product Owner represents the voice of the customer within their scrum team and is responsible for translating customer requirements and business objectives into intuitive product designs and user stories. You are an experienced product owner with a passion for EHSQ, with several years of experience managing and delivering EHS or Quality projects. You have a solid understanding of both Lean/Agile project management methodologies.Responsibilities and Deliverables
    • Perform user research to build a shared internal understanding of user s day-to-day work activities, challenges and needs
    • Perform discovery using established methods such as interviewing, focus groups, databases of support and enhancement requests, prototyping, etc.
    • Formulate product hypotheses detailing assumptions, problems, and solutions to be tested through market, customer, and internal stakeholder engagement
    • Analyze business and functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows
    • Translate high-level product requirements into guidance for the product team through epics, user stories, customer journey/user story mapping, and intuitive designs
    • Partner with UX Designers to fully understand the user needs and develop design vision that addresses requirements and aligns with our user experience and user interface design standards
    • Conduct meetings with product stakeholders to ensure all stated direction and plans meet the stakeholder needs and to regularly communicate the product/project status updates
    • Work closely with other Product Owners to ensure all dependencies and impediments across the portfolio are understood so that new features can be released in a timely manner
    • Work in weekly or bi-weekly sprints using an Agile methodology
    • Define each iteration and work closely with your product team(s) to deliver products on time; monitor and report on the status of release schedules
    • Unblock and focus your product team(s) throughout each iteration to ensure maximum productivity
    • Coordinate with Product Managers to align business and product plans assuring that initiatives meet both business and target customer objectives

    • Ability to deliver customer and business objectives in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; the ability to understand how technology can solve a user problem
    • The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and communicate with stakeholders, including customers, vendors and other employees
    • The ability to balance business needs and usability/design ideals within a fast-paced, agile software development environment
    • Strong knowledge of agile development processes
    • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
    Technical CompetenciesPreferred
    • Experience using project management tools such as Jira
    • Experience with mobile development
    • UI design experience, including mapping task and workflows and prototyping
    ExperienceRequired:
    • Experience working within EHS or Quality roles
    • Experience as a Product Owner within a Scrum team
    Preferred
    • Past experience as Product Owner within enterprise software company
    EducationPreferred
    • A post secondary degree or equivalent experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Quality related fields
    • Certification in Project Management
    • Certification in Product Management
