Job Description

    Principle duties and responsibilities & Previous hands-on experience in furniture manufacture - Kitchen & WardrobeOversee the production process, drawing up the production scheduleEnsure that production is cost-effectiveDecide what resources are requiredDraft timescales for the jobsEstimate costs and set quality standardsMonitor the production processes and adjust schedules as neededBe responsible for the selection and maintenance of machineryMonitor product standards and implement quality control programsLiaise among different departments e.g. suppliers, managersWork with management to implement the companys policies and goalsEnsure that health and safety guidelines are followedSupervise and motivate a team of workersReview work performanceIdentify training needsChair production meetings to communicate weekly requirements to each of the production departments.Work with the sales personnel in developing prototypes for new product introductions.Build a motivated, competent, and results-focused manufacturing teamPlay a key role in the quality control and review processes to continually improve.Desirable experience and skillsThree -Five years of experience in a production management position.Proven track record in the furniture/joinery sectorDeep understanding of modern timber manufacturing techniquesPlanning and organization skills with strong communication skills to lead the overall manufacturing process.Ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problemsCapacity to grasp concepts easilyICT Literacy to deal with various technologies and programsAttention to detail to ensure high levels of qualityAbility to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlinesAbility to work in a logical systemic mannerQualifications:Third-level qualification in furniture manufacture ( B.Sc. in Furniture Manufacture and Design ) but even experience from other Background education is also preferableExperience in implementing lean manufacturing tools an advantageCad experience preferable
