This distributed system provides capabilities such as cluster management, orchestration, routing, caching, object and metadata stores, distributed file system, security, encryption, multi-cloud architecture, and more! You will be integral to the delivery of our next-generation Tableau Cloud product.Responsibilities:
• Self-Starter: You are self motivated, a quick learner, can go deep into the problem space and advocate the right technology.
• Role Model: Demonstrate high proficiency in software engineering development paradigms and best practices, with high focus on reliability and quality. Be a role model to junior engineers on the team
• Driver: Drive your design and implementation with engineering and product excellence. Own your work end to end from design to testing, experimentation and full launch.
• Customer Success: Understand who your customers are and their use cases as well as how your work fits into the bigger picture.
• Influencer: Participate in design reviews and provide constructive and clear feedback to choose the right approach and unblock the design quickly.
• Mentor: Provide technical coaching to junior team members to help improve their overall skills and knowledge, primarily by using techniques such as pair-programming and reviews.
• Communicator: Communicate clearly and efficiently with your partners and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of software development experience
• Experience in API lifecycle and developing REST APIs.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, Java preferred.
• Good theoretical understanding of distributed system concepts and design paradigms.
• Ability to support / resolve production customer escalations with excellent debugging and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent field
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Business Intelligence, Data and Analytics domain.
• Familiarity with Data model design, database technologies (RDBMS & NoSQL).
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS/ GCP/ Azure) and cloud technologies like terraform, spinnaker, EKS, GKE, etc.
• Experience with Containers and Container Orchestration systems (such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm etc)
• Experience in building distributed systems and Software-as-a-Service(SaaS) applications
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD)
• Prior experience working with a global team
• Master s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent fiel
