Job Description

    * SAP Release Management Consultant Roles & Responsibilities:
    • SAP release planning, communication, scope preparation, validation, co-ordinate testing activities, and release deployments to ensure that changes are safely migrated into Production environment.
    • Chair the release CAB (Change Approval Board) meetings for moving changes to production.
    • SAP Release Management activities to handle the transports movement throughout the landscape with different SAP components (ECC, PI, SRM etc)
    • Work with various projects team members & business stakeholders in handling the release management activities.
    • Prepare and publish the release Calendar on a yearly basis and update as and when required
    • Work with the various teams like Infrastructure, Functional, Security, technical when any issues related to transports and system unavailability occur.
    • Plan, communicate and manage and work along with other teams for system refreshes
    Technology Skills:
    • Good knowledge of SAP technical background (landscape, environment, transport orders etc), different stages of SAP projects (run, deployments, testing. etc in SDLC).
    • Knowledge and experience in managing the release deployment activities, preferably using SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM)
    • Experience in supporting the Solution Manager, preferably through Solution Manager (ChaRM) to maintain the SAP system landscape setup.
    • Experience with STMS monitoring & return code analysis
    • Working knowledge in maintenance and housekeeping of SAP Solution Manager.
    • Working knowledge of end to end Software Development Life cycle (SDLC), ITIL and Release Management process.
    • Proficiency with various software applications including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Behavioral Skills:
    • Strong decision-making skills for problem identification, solution recommendation and implementation.
    • Team player & ability to complete tasks within required quality and within deadlines.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to agreed deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to tailor communication to the intended audience.
