Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for development, implementation, and optimization of Flow Chemistry solutions to ensure the design of robust, sustainable, and efficient chemical processes, and their effective utilization for manufacturing. He/she will be expected to participate in the evaluation of alternative routes, targets to identify steps for application of continuous flow approaches. Suitable candidate must be experienced with designing bench scale prototyping for scale up, safer and efficient chemistry of high value materials, expertise with Floe chemistry techniques and engineering. He/she will provide support to the group to strategically advance S&T supporting the chemistry needs of flow technologies, generate lab based experimental data to build early stage, fit for purpose, process models and use these to guide further rounds of experimental data to support decisions on equipment selection for scale up. Good knowledge of literature search (reaxys/scifinder etc.), synthetic route design, working experience on PR&D, process innovation, DOE, QBD, execution of multistep synthetic chemistry including the ability to independently conduct the analysis and accurately interpret analytical data. Critical tasks involve enabling new chemical transformations, new chemistries, IP and influencing route design. The individual will support R&D campaigns at lab scales from a few 10s grams to 100s of grams. He/she must have experience in resolving technical complexity and interdisciplinary problems, the ability to work flexible hours and travel when required. He/she must demonstrate ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs is highly desirable. Organize product (material) testing as per required quality standards/specifications and ensures the quality of finished products is met and SAP confirmation as per SOP. Reviews inventory, raw material planning and ordering, schedules or demand and changes in priority of work as necessary. Maintains parameters as required in shift, writes and revises procedures (if required). Communicates results to supervisors/management and maintains all parameters as required in a shift and records all observations during shift. Candidate must have good interpersonal skill (communication & presentation) and he/she should be able to communicate results of lab work to external and internal customers, appropriately and timely. The ideal candidate should have M. Sc, Ph.D or post-doctoral experience in related fields with minimum of 4-9 years relevant experience. R&D experience in flow chemistry, organic chemistry with additional industrial experience, in practical applications of flow chemistry is highly desirable.What we offer: With us, there are always opportunities to break new ground.
