Job Description

  • Build a network of influence, become an assessor, thought leader, and trusted advisor in a wide range of Software Excellence initiatives by the Philips SW CoE. Work jointly with the SW CoE team to execute the global improvement initiatives with a special focus on improving the reach/coverage of these initiatives globally.
In this role, you are responsible for
  • Implementing current SW Excellence programs
  • Generating ideas and research for new SW Excellence programs
  • Generating ideas and research to improve current SW Excellence programs
  • Supporting software people and the businesses that surround them in continuous improvement of speed and quality
  • Responsible for creating software frameworks and address system aspects through requirement planning, design reviews, data monitoring, fault tolerance, support tooling, capacity management and adoption of architecture patterns/practices.
  • Performs the role of a specialist by reviewing work products
  • Contribute in repetitive task Automation to enhance productivity for the assigned features
  • Gathering the right metrics/data from the created artefacts and derive meaningful outcomes and measurements for the same, thereby facilitating the understanding of impact created by the work through measurable KPIs
  • Help in maintaining the operational ecosystem, replacing manual processes with tooling and automation
  • Contributing/supporting as a key member of new platform & product development teams
  • Responsible for guiding the existing/new platform/product development and sustaining change teams to meet product/solution goals.
  • Participates in the development of design specifications and verification test plans and reports.
  • Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely affect field reliability. Facilitate/support DFMEA and Safety Risk analysis.
  • Reliability modeling and prediction
  • Structured Problem solving techniques, e.g. Fault Tree, 5 Why, Problem/solution Definition
  • Train and mentor other Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Businesses
  • Being a role model, advocate and publicist for SW Excellence

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience/Preferred Skills:
  • 15+ years experience in a technical software role dealing with complex enterprise software landscapes / equivalent technical & inter-personal maturity
  • Master s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience of all aspects software product development and teaching, learning and influencing in these areas
  • Experience of multiple programming languages, OSs, infrastructures, technology stacks and product types
  • Hands-on coding expertise needed in any 2-3 programming languages
  • Java, .NET, C#, SQL, Restful, service oriented architecture with public API s software development experience
  • Experience/knowledge with web technologies such as: HTML / CSS / Java-script / JQuery / Angular / other front-end frameworks
  • Has worked with (Scaled)Agile methodologies, TDD, BDD, continuous integration, devops skillset/
  • Experience with third-party enterprise software integration & solutions
  • Clear communication, passion and tact.
  • Awareness of the intersections of business, technical and human concerns
