The Role You will work with the team to analyse and advise on the development costs of greenfield and asset enhancement projects, producing cost plans in respect to the project brief and concept plans, provide Gross Floor Area / Construction Floor Area checks and validate final area schedules. Job Responsibilities Work closely with different QS consultants and document agreements with them on assumptions and final cost advice. Gather cover pricing and market intelligence through independent research to establish the most appropriate cost advice for the respective business groups within Mapletree Group. Responsible for the initial construction cashflows and provide advice on cost escalation and peculiar construction risks, as well as benchmarking comparisons (both internal & external). Assist in the short-listing of all consultants and contractors. Establish the Mapletree development cost database across various businesses/countries, which includes compiling and maintaining database on construction costs, tender indices, market trends and benchmarking. Establish regular cost report updating across the region and drive cost report transparency. Advise on costing and quantity matters through the review of construction contracts and consultancy service agreements. Work with the team to implement appropriate procurement strategy for each development project and ensure consistency in application of award letters, construction contracts and consultancy service agreements across the region. Job Requirements Possess a Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field. At least 10 years of relevant quantity surveying or cost planning experience in the execution of Commercial, Industrial and Logistics projects. Familiar with local and international construction contracts, such as Fidic contract forms. Possess an analytical mind with high levels of independence, ownership, endurance, adaptability, and demonstrate excellent leadership to drive the commerciality of the projects. Seeks continuous improvement on the design and processes through consistently questioning the status quo. Possess excellent understanding of the entire design, project management, and building process of development projects. May be required to travel within the country on occasionally.
