Job Description

A Senior Network Security Engineer is responsible for supporting GLOBALFOUNDRIES network infrastructure and will be part of the SmartOps team we are building in Bangalore to provide L1.5 support, they are expected to work closely with members of other departments, and global Networking team in other regions.General Summary - Regular Duties:Network Security Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, expanding, and improving GLOBALFOUNDRIES network infrastructure and service offerings. The duties of a Network Engineer are listed below.Manages day-to-day operations and provide support for Network Performance monitoring tools ( Riverbed, Stablenet, Cisco Prime ISE, iTracs)Provide infrastructure maintenance support for problem management and incident escalationPerform network administration, such as but not limited to:DNS host registration, Call manager profile setup, MAC address whitelistingWork with global Network Team to plan & upgrade firmware patchesImplement firewall and proxy rules into production environmentBackup of network/security device configurationAdminister of Network & Performance Monitoring toolsIdentify patches required and schedule through change managementMonitors system performance and recommend performance tuningTroubleshoot user problems and system failuresWork with Cyber Defence team during security incident investigationExecute L1.5 service request for Network and Security operations, Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • In depth knowledge in supporting and configuring network hardware like Switch, Router, Load Balancer, Packetshaper, DNS, DHCP.
  • Working experience in supporting LAN/WAN, INTRANET/INTERNET infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC , BGP ,OSPF , MPLS, DHCP , DNS , QoS, 802.11)
  • Good understanding of Layer 2/3 switching and routing.
  • Experience in of F5 Load Balancer
  • Experience with Firewalls ( Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoints), Bluecoat proxies
  • Experience with VoIP technology (Cisco preferred)
  • Good understanding of UCM (Cisco Unified communications manager), with working experience in following concepts: International Dial Plans, Calling Search Space/Partitions, QOS, Mobility, LDAP Integration
  • General awareness of SIP, and H.323 protocols.
  • General knowledge of a telecom and backbone network infrastructure (i.e., local & long distance Telco s, Telco products, QoS, Routing etc.).Demonstrated experience in integration, planning, coordination, and facilitating network information system related activities such as upgrade of hardware and software, and implementation of internet and intranet sites
  • Ability to work within a 24x7 operation that requires flexibility in availability for operational support
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or technical degree.
  • Candidates with at least 5+ years of experience with a minimum 2 year in supporting Cisco switches, routers and firewalls
  • Vendor or industry standard network certifications (Cisco) in applicable specialty or related technology areas will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people within and outside of IT to balance demands
  • Advanced skills in planning, designing and troubleshooting complex network environments
  • Strong communications, writing and editing skills needed. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Education - Graduation degree in IT and computer science (BS in Computer science)
  • Years of Experience - 3 years solid working experience in Network Security
  • Preferred Qualifications: Engineering in computer science
