Job Description

    Our client is a company trading in Ferrous/ Non Ferrous metals based in Buckinghamshire. Their core business activities involve collection, segregation, testing, processing and shipping of metal scrap to major melting plants around the globe. They are looking to recruit a senior purchase manager to support and facilitate the European purchasing activities of the company. Job Description To prepare Requests for Quotation, Purchase Orders commitments and transmittals by email and by telephone To negotiate prices, time of delivery and other commercial terms conditions by email and by telephone To solve the communication and order-related problems between European suppliers and the head office To report activities to the Head office daily by email To expedite and improve the delivery of goods and submission of documents To develop good working relations with European suppliers To advise suppliers of shipping instructions and if required, to coordinate with freight forwarders by telephone To maintain and improve relationships with current suppliers and develop new suppliers throughout Europe To provide the head office with useful information about European suppliers, legislation and recent changes in regulations, market information, etc. To monitor the progress and status of purchase orders which were placed with suppliers Other requirements Should be willing to travel extensively all over UK and Europe Must have a driving license Excellent written and verbal English Spoken German, French or Spanish would be an advantage,
