Senior Software EngineerLocation Bangalore - CarinaPosting date 1 day ago(1/8/2021 7:06 AM)Job ID 83299 Category Software Engineering Job summary The Red Hat Performance and Scale Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple business groups to conduct performance evaluations on Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage and Ceph, while deployed on-premise and on a varying set of public cloud providers. Your work will help contribute and optimize Red Hat products. Primary job responsibilities

  • Work on the performance and scale characterization and targeted enhancements for the next generation of Red Hat Storage, Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage, and Ceph
  • Collaborate with development, quality engineers, and product management to identify and resolve critical performance issues of our offerings and help guide solutions
  • Develop and run complex performance tests
  • Perform statistical analysis
  • Regularly provide updates to Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Product Management teams
  • Publish results, conclusions, recommendations, and best practices via documents and blogs to the field, partners, and customers
  • Use tools for metrics, monitoring, and results from analysis using Grafana, Graphite, collectd, Prometheus, and the Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack
  • Triage, debug, and solve customer cases related to performance and scale if needed
Required skills
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related experience
  • Expertise in Python and scripting
  • Performance and scale experience
  • 4+ years of experience in the IT industry
  • Good knowledge of system design and distributed systems
  • Motivated with excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Good written and verbal language skills in English
  • Automation experience is a plus
  • Experience with open source communities and processes is a plus
