Job Description

Azure Data is the world leader in data management and processing with products such as SQL Server, Azure HDInsight, and Azure Synapse. We build reliable, cloud scale and high-performance distributed systems for big-data analytics on Azure. Azure Synapse is a limitless analytics service that brings together enterprise data warehousing and Big Data analytics. The Synapse core team is the heart of Synapse. It is a cloud native distributed platform that handles all the control flows and co-ordinates with dozens of other technologies like Spark, Machine Learning, Messaging, SQL etc. to ensure a seamless Analytics experience for our customers.We are experiencing massive growth in demand for our services since the product went live last year, our customer traffic has grown by scales of magnitude. We are looking for new, stellar manager to join our team to help us tackle the new challenges we face as we strive to improve our services under scale. We are highly collaborative, data-oriented, and greatly value diversity of thought and ideas.As a Manager, you will help us realize the vision above in many ways:

  • Technical, organizational, and cultural leadership for the team
  • Build the team by hiring individual contributors, ensuring a healthy mix of talent across seniority, styles, and backgrounds
  • As a member of the Azure Synapse leadership team, work in alignment with other sites and leaders to define joint technical strategy and execution plans
  • Product and live site quality, including processes and practices that ensure we deliver a product the team is proud of
  • Enhance and integrate new verticals to Azure Synapse with focus on efficiency, scalability reliability, and security
  • Owning the Synapse components and driving them end to end, all the way from gathering requirements, development, testing, deployment to ensuring high availability post deployment
  • Contribute to the architecture & design of the Azure Data products
Triaging issues and implementing solutions to restore service with minimal disruption to the customer and business.
