Job Description

We need someone who can understand when and what needs to be delivered, and take over that responsibility from the engineering managers.Documents that will need to be created and maintained includeWhite PapersInstallation and Deployment GuidesOperation ManualsApplication and UI User ManualsAdapter GuidesAPI Reference ManualsRelease NotesWhen creating these documents the writers need to be proactively involved in

  • Identifying and communicating with the responsible engineering resources to obtain information as required
  • Performing hands-on installations to ensure that the deployment steps are clear and correct
  • Receiving Knowledge Transfer and then working directly with the Apps/UIs
  • Using their experience to test and verify documentation and product workflows, and to ensure that workflows are clear and that labeling is correct and appropriate for each product or feature
  • Making sure that the users gain an in-depth understanding of the product, and not just the obvious button clicks
  • Following style guides and creating documents in formats that are easily translated
Currently most of our documentation is created using Microsoft Word while we have some in Adobe FrameMaker.We are looking at moving to Asciidocs for documentation in the future, so experience in these tools will be an asset.,
