We ll need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains: computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, real-time and distributed systems.As a Software Development Engineer in Physical Store Tech, you will work in a team of talented engineers to build low-latency solutions for frontend (Javascript, CSS, hybrid), middle tier (Java, Spring) and backend (non-relational databases and other AWS services) as well as identify and evaluate new technology options for the challenges we are trying to solve. We are looking for a smart engineer who can effectively deal with ambiguity and work independently to clarify requirements, build prototypes and deliver results quickly. You will learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.1+ years of professional software development experience1+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systemsThis position is for the UPSELL team, a new initiative offering new shopping experience to customers in Physical Stores.Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities: You will work with a team of engineers and develop awesome software You will work through all phases of the project lifecycle - requirements gathering, designing solutions, building new interfaces, integration with existing architectures, development and testing code, deployments. Build scalable, highly available and resilient applications by utilizing AWS technologies like ECS, EC2, RDS/DynamoDB/RedShift, Lambda etc. Develop technical solutions in tools such as Java, Vue.js,Python and whatever suits the problem at hand to deliver value to customers Build iteratively using agile methodologies, Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or 1+ years professional experience in software development Fluency in Java, C# or other object-oriented languages. Passion and established experience for full stack software development Proficiency in software system design Expertise in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and complexity analysis. Ability to produce bullet-proof code that is fault-tolerant, efficient and maintainable. Working knowledge of UNIX systems Master s degree in Computer Science or related field Experience working with AWS services (S3, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, EC2, CloudWatch, Kinesis, SQS, etc ) Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations Strong communication and interpersonal skills
