Job Description

    Software Development Engineering Manager - Java BackendYour role and responsibilities:As a Technical Software Development Manager, your focus will be split between software development and management of the team on software development (roughly 60/40). Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries (primarily Stockholm , Sweden).Supervise the daily activities of the team to ensure expectations are met and the team is operating in an efficient and effective manner.Collaborate with other levels of management and other departments to create and maintain efficient work processes.Ensure that the team is made aware of changes to the organizations policies and procedures.Motivate, develop, recruit, and retain employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of a high performing team.Hold formal year end assessments and ratingsWork as part of an agile team to deliver agreed scope each sprintDesign, develop, troubleshoot, and implement software for the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance productConduct performance testing, review results, identify bottlenecks and profile code.Mentor junior developers, provide guidance and develop their skills.Troubleshoot customer requestsProactively participate in the teams continues agile process improvementsProactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications.We expect you to have:At least 8 years of documented software development experience.Experience with people management and formal staff management and mentoring, i.e. yearly staff assessment and review.Documented experience with Agile development and its practices.Expertise in writing server-side code using Java 8/11 with common frameworks and unit-testsExperience with Container technology (e.g. Podman , Docker)Working knowledge of Linux and scriptingExcellent written/verbal communication skills Experience in code reviews and giving feedback.Qualification : Bachelor/Master in computer science.It would be great if you haveExperience working with financial markets and an understanding of trading behaviorExperience as a scrum masterExperience in graph algorithmsExperience of GitLab and/or GradleKnowledge of the AWS platform and K8s.,
